Ok....well I don't think Williams would do that, but ok.

As to your point, why spend on Trent Williams if you can get Matt Feiler(steelers starting RT) who's played RT his whole career, has only given up 2 sacks this year and is younger?

Trevor Lawrence. It's that simple. Trent Williams will be the best tackle available this offseason. Spend the money, which is plenty available for the Jets, to protect Trevor Lawrence with the best so they don't destroy him how they did Sam Darnold. You can move Mekhi Becton to right tackle as well. It's not that complicated lol. Get the best OL to protect your generational QB.

Let's see what happens in the offseason. I hope the 49ers can find a way to keep Trent Williams.

Ok, Did you not see the BIlls OL 2 nights ago? Josh Allen had amazing protection. Their RT is available in free agency, is younger than Trent Williams. Feiler has given up fewer sacks than Williams this year.

So, once again, why would they sign Trent, move their #11 overall pick to the right side after playing the whole year on the left instead of one of the 2 best RT's in the game?

It's really not that complicated.

Trent Williams is the only FA I'd ever believe would take less money to stay with a team. And I mean like $1m less, not $5m.

If any FA knows what it means to be in a s**t org it's Trent Williams.

Other than that — they're all mercenaries with no loyalty to any team and just want to get paid. As it should be. Loyalty is a fan thing. Not a player thing.

It's really hard for a lot of fans to understand this.

It's allllllllll about the $$$$$$

It is all about the money but every year there are reports of players turning down better offers to play with a team or coach that they covet.

Yea, when the numbers are close.

I'm not a salary cap guru. But let's say going into next year we are without:
Sherman, Dee Ford, tart, Witherspoon, tevin Coleman, McKinnon, Solomon Thomas, rich burg.

That would have to put us in good salary cap position wouldn't it?

Sherman, Tartt, Witherspoon, Coleman, McKinnon & Thomas are FAs, you get no savings from them leaving. As for Dee and Richburg, they save around $10M.

Aside from a healthy Sherman and Tarrt it's addition by subtraction for the others
I had big hopes for the rest of them but it didn't seem to pan out

I've been taking away from their per game roster bonuses that's why my numbers are different.

Man, cap life was so much easier back in the Baalke days when there was no talent worth re-signing.

Ahhh the simple days when all we got in FA was Eric Rogers, Zane Beatles and Thad Lewis.

Zane Beadles. Oh man I remember that year when he was the splash free agent acquisition.

After about 210 pages in the Zone draft thread. The fury was real.

This is what players and agents say to save face and/or ingratiate themselves to a fan base. These guys have like 5 years to earn every dollar they possibly can because they won't make s**t the rest of their lives.
Bring back Trent Williams, Juice, Verrett and Hyder. Everybody else can leave, we'll take the compensatory picks.
Bring back the ERFA like Moseley and Kevin Givens for cheap.
Saleh can leave, we'll take those draft picks for that illogical rule about minority people hiring.
