Zach Wilson, my 1st thought.

A win at any point the rest of the way would have been disastrous for us. We are not going to win the Super Bowl. And that's okay. It's painfully, and obviously apparent that this is not our year. The "can't catch a break" mantra resets itself every week. Someone gets hurt, or a portion of the team we thought would show up complete falls apart and looks terrible.

1) injuries
2) no Weston richburg
3) no bosa, no pass rush, no all gas no breaks defense.
4) no online, no run game, no good jimmy.

We have had way too many things happen each and every week to derail the season. we cannot expect all of that just to stop and everything go our way when at no point in the season (other than in the Rams games) has this team looked remotely capable of beating a top tier team team.

The best thing for us is to let Jimmy nick, warner, Blair Kittle and whoever else that are injured to heal up and take the losses that come. We can improve our draft stock and let the players that we can't sign go then Re-tool and to reload.

It sucks because we know that fully healthy this team can compete with anyone but the reality is that's just not gonna happen this year.

In the year that everyone's had it would've been nice for the 49ers to win but it seems like if any team has had a 2020 kind of year it's definitely the 49ers.

I have mixed feeling on the OP and responses. I think Saleh at times is underrated and does a very good job. THEN I watch games and all I see is WAY TOO SOFT defense, no extra pass rush and no tight coverages. Just super soft zone (see vs. Bills). So I'm with the OP most of the time.

Agree on McGlinchey. I've hated on him since like midseason of his rookie year. He just sucks.

Kendrick Bourne... You gotta go. You do that damned happy dance on the odd occasion that you actually catch the ball (provided you are in open space and the ball hits you square in the numbers... and even then it's a toss up). But you celebration dance happens so infrequently that nobody knows your signature moves.

Richie James... It's ok to actually RETURN the ball from time to time on special teams... at least twice today you could have turned a battleship around in the space you had.

As for the D...

I'll pay for the damned flight myself to get Saleh off to Detroit. Last year proved he can be good... so long as his defense is absolutely stacked. This guy was below average before last year and this year he has reverted to form.

Arik Armstead... you get a pass for this year... JUST. And that's only really because you've had to take over the EDGE duties and that clearly isn't your bag. Next year however...

Uncle Sherm... Please stay. Find a way to make it happen.

And as for Shanahan... Like Armstead.. you get a pass this year, but your ass better be on a real short leash next season and every chair you sit in better be warm!

I can tell that game hit you pretty hard. Almost as hard as you hitting the sauce.

I can see us trading another big name player again to try and get draft capital. We have too many holes and too many contracts to get done and not much cap space. I wouldn't be shocked if we traded Kittle or Debo. It's scary to think what this roster would look like if we couldn't resign all the important players due and if all the FAs walk after this year.
Jimmy G needs a major restructure if he's staying.
