I've been a fan since I was 10. I'm gonna be 39 this year.

Just because other people don't care about a meaningless win today with a chance to increase the odds you can add an impact player who can help you win for the next 10+ years doesn't make people bandwagon fans. It just means some fans value big picture over immediate gratification...and limited gratification at that.

Not like the Jets beating a playoff Rams team. It was the Cowboys who suck this year.
Yeah cuz a player in next draft will make us win the next 10 years. Draft position is so very overrated

So are meaningless wins in December when you're very clearly not a playoff team.

Yeah..with his 1-9 career record and all.

Hence the /sarcasm

Difference is his 1-9 record was earned in his rookie and 2nd season on some poor teams. Mullens is 1-7 as a 4th year pro on a team that went to the Super Bowl last year.
You're not wrong, but seriously, I doubt the results are different.

This is really the mindset. How dare this team not win with 4 string centers and people playing guard for the first time in their life, revolving door at skill positions. How dare they.

Haha haha yep how dare they not beat Andy dalton and a Ezekiel-less offense.

The only reason we dare take delight in shanny losing is because of all the hot air we received about his greatness. It was all about system superiority.

His drafting on offense is garbage and he's no better or worse as a leader than any other decent offensive coach. He's good with good players. No s**t. Nothing to get excited.

He's good unless it's the 4th quarter of the super bowl then he's straight garbage too.

Nick Bosa would argue with that statement

And Myles Garrett.

Draft position isn't the end-all be-all but it absolutely does matter. In 2016 we missed out on Garrett and got Solomon effing Thomas because of one meaningless two-point conversion against the Rams. In 2018 we got Nick Bosa instead of Quinnen Williams because of two last-second wins by the Falcons' backup squad and a "meaningless" miracle TD by Beasley.

Sure, draft position isn't EVERYTHING. But it 100% is SOMETHING. Ask Jets fans how they feel after today. They literally avoided the 0-16 history books next to the Lions and Browns and are PISSED about it. Why? Because draft position matters.

I mean his starting C did go down Last Dec and he didn't make a single move to shore up the position despite a draft and F/A as well as the entire offseason to do so. It started the whole sequence of events that had the RG competition go up in flames as soon as Garland went down before the season started forcing Brunskill in at C and by default making Compton the RG who was a revolving door there. I think Shanny is putting too much faith in his Oline coach who's yet to honestly develop anyone for this team. That's also his fault.

They're a joke. Anyone who roots for losses should turn in their fan card. Especially when this roster was crushing the league a year ago.

Nope. Today would have been my dad's 89th birthday. Would have been a great present to him. God damn Noodle arm Mullins. Nice kid, but what the hell.

You want to know what a difference the draft makes?

We draft Aaron Rogers we probably have 3 more superbowl trophies by now

We draft Russell Wilson same situation

Patrick Machines, at least one more

The first two likely make us overall the team with the most superbowl wins in league history.

Instead we have two superbowl losses and multiple non-playoff seasons in the last 10 years with no end in sight.

Our QB situation is garbage, our secondary is garbage, our oline is garbage....we are headed for another rebuild.

Next year will probably be worse than this year if we don't replace Jimmy....he will disappoint next year and leave the team hanging again as he misses most the season with a strange injury after performing poorly....

Yeah, you're right, Bosa had nothing to do with getting to SB! Now, that's logic!

I agree with most it apart from replacing Jimmy G right away.

You forget the bust rate of QBs are actually pretty damn high. Think about all the 1st round QBs who are still in the league that busted, Winston, Mariota, Trubisky, Darnold and even Carson Wentz to an extent.

There is no way we will start Mullens or the rookie right away just when the entire roster is healthy when we embark onto a pivotal season trying to turn things around.

We will start Jimmy G and not unless he gets injured again or he doesn't perform, then we start the rookie provided he pans out. Makes sense. You forget even Mahomes started in his 2nd year.

Let the rookie sit behind Jimmy G and learn for a year. Then, may be trade Jimmy G in the 2021 offseason and start the rookie in 2022.

I could be wrong here but you are sort of making his point

You are sort of making his point for him. His argument is that draft position doesn't matter and then you tried to prove him wrong by naming a bunch of players that were available well after we picked. We could have had every single player you mentioned and passed on them (as did nearly everyone else) to take someone else. Therefore logic would dictate that he is correct, draft position really doesn't matter but draft value absolutely does. There are rare exceptions to this of course (Luck, Bosa) where those generational talents are only available in the first few picks but that isn't the argument you presented since all the guys you mentioned were late first round or later picks.
The reality is, this season was doomed as soon as Bosa went down. Then Jimmy and Kittle going out was gameover for the 2020 49ers.

It would have been nice to beat the damn cowboys, but of course we fail to even do that.

How are we this cursed to be so injured and suck? Yet Chiefs are 13-1 ready to make their 2nd straight superbowl.
