DC Candidates if Robert Saleh Leaves

It seems like he's bound to get a HC gig after this season, so what are our options? I've heard Raheem Morris, Gus Bradley, and Dan Quinn mentioned by some... but I'm personally not a huge fan of any of them.

Two names I would consider that had successful defenses at one point: Kris Richard and Marvin Lewis.

Any other names you guys can think of or pros and cons of the above options?
Demeco Ryans
Nobody runs Saleh's system, so before people come in here spouting "Dan Quinn or Gus Bradley so we can run the same system," that's incorrect. Saleh has done a damn good job of evolving the Seattle scheme so much so that he's essentially created his own wide 9, quarters-based defense.
If Vic Fangio gets fired, I'd want him. Other than that, I think it's best they promote someone on the staff if they believe they're ready. Demeco Ryans seems like the natural candidate. Daniel Bullocks(DB/Safeties coach) is another guy that said he had DC aspirations. No idea if either of these guys is ready.

This would allow them to maintain continuity, which is huge. If they bring in someone from the outside, there's no guarantee guys like Kocurek stick around. Most DCs do not run wide 9 in base.

Dan Quinn only to be assistant DL coach. He's still running the same Seattle defense from 6 years ago that the league has long ago solved. No imagination or ability to adapt.

Bradley has tons of talent on that Chargers defense and the results have been dismal. Saleh once worked for both of those guys but has surpassed them as a play caller. Going with either one would be a step or two backwards.

I'm down with Ryans as well. He knows the system. Guys seem to really like him. We can't complain about LB play.

Saleh had been around a few places before he landed in Jacksonville as LB coach. Most of that previous time was interning/holding a clipboard.

I am always in favor of promoting from within. Not only does it maintain continuity, but it also encourages the development of other staff members.

We need Joe Dirt
I hope shanny keeps his d line coach. That special teams coach and qb coach can kick rocks.

Isn't Richard with the cowboys?
Someone who will stay for more than 5 years.
I´d want DeMeco Ryans because he´d keep everything the same.

Just don´t lose Kocurek and our D will be fine.

Anyone who stays for more than 5 years will either be somewhat mediocre or a straight up psycho that shoves pencils in his ears during HC interviews.

I think he is jobless right now.

100% agree about Hightower and Day.

If it's from outside the team, Jim Schwartz if they want to keep the DL playing in the same scheme as they are now, Vic Fangio if they want to play similar coverages as they are now. I'm not familiar with other coaches around the league to suggest anyone else.
