Ya our LBs have played great but first off that's only one specific facet of our D an an secondly we have Warner an greenlaw who are big reasons for that.

I think we need experience if we want to maintain the same performance as the last couple years on D.

The Rams new DC had less NFL coaching experience than Ryans when he got hired and their defense has been pretty legit this season. Ryans hasn't just been an assistant coach, he was a top level player for a decade and a guy widely regarded for his high football IQ. It makes all the sense in the world to keep promoting guys in-house, show guys that if they put the work in, that they'll get their opportunity.

looks like Anthony Lynn is getting fired. How do we feel about Gus Bradley?
Saleh has a Falcons interview tomorrow

Could work. I'm cool with him or Demeco

Pass on Bradley. Dude has been underachieving with above average talent for several years now.
I like DeMeco. Unless there's somebody better

Demeco Ryans has been calling and checking defensive calls for years as a MIKE LB. His nickname as a player was "the coach." He's about as prepared to be a DC as Saleh was when he got here, and he'll also have Shanny to lean on.

Also, if you don't promote Demeco, he leaves with Saleh. If you bring in an outside DC, there's also a high likelihood that Kocurek is gone as well. The idea of maintaining the same performance goes down the toilet with an entirely new defensive coaching staff.

Great post, totally agree!!

Spot on

Yup. Also keeps them 3rd round picks coming if/when he gets his HC opportunity. I think he will and it's just a matter of time
f**k it.. bring in Romeo Crennel or Wade Philips
I'm kind of all aboard the Ryans train at this point.

"It's a blessing and a curse. He knows everything that's going on the field, like the back of his hand," Greenlaw said. "He and Saleh are the leaders of the defense. By having played in that defense before, he knows what to expect and he does a good job explaining what he wants out of you.

"Everybody loves DeMeco because he's going to coach you hard. Sometimes you may not like it, but he'll motivate you and also tell you if you're doing good."

all in
I´ve been saying that Ryans should be our option #1
I like Ryans. If not and it's someone from the outside I want Morris from Atlanta. He did a heck of a job making that team competitive every game down the stretch
