I am really okay with this. I really like what we are doing on that side of the ball. I love the continuity of hiring in house. Another bonus is we would prbably have him for 3 years or so before teams started noticing him as a HC candidate if he kills it as a DC.

I'm on board with Demeco Ryans provided he doesn't overhaul anything scheme wise. I like what the 49ers have going.

A LB as a DC is usually the best option. Why? Because DL don't understand DBs and DBs don't understand DL. LBs understand both.

That makes a lot of sense to me. Especially someone that was a MIKE. The only question is how well does Demeco scout and come up with gameplans. Playcalling is one thing, gameplanning is another and shows the players if you know what you're doing.

Kinda sucks that we have to wait till Saleh gets hired elsewhere to start looking for a DC. Might be too late by then. Raiders already requested to interview Gus Bradley

I'm guessing Shanahan has already done contingency planning. Ryan in house, Bradley and Quinn external.

Yep, the MIKE is the comm head for everything that goes on. That creates a mindset that is not present in other positions with the exception of safety. I would imagine that Ryans has been involved in scouting/planning for the same reason.

Bring in gus Bradley. However I srsly doubt any team would be dumb enough to make Salah a HC.
