Why would you want Bradley after he took one of the most talented defenses in the NFL and had them playing mediocre? 18th against the run and 23rd in points against.

Gus Bradley is the DC for the Chargers, they're not letting him move lateral. Now, if we offered DC/Asst HC, maybe.

Too many people living in the past. Saleh just pulled off as good of a coaching job as you're going to see considering that he had 2 out of 11 expected starters available for the entire season.

I want to find the next Saleh, not some retread.

Please, oh sage, do share your wisdom with us about those other teams.

Just my opinion that most teams like to hire offensive coaches now. Also salahs defense tends to collapse when it matters most.

Shanahan said he "absolutely" would considering promoting LBs coach DeMeco Ryans to DC if Robert Saleh becomes a head coach.

"It's a matter of time before DeMeco is coordinator in this league, a matter of time before he's a head coach," Shanahan said.

I get this feeling Dan Quinn will get the job. I hope not, I wanna see an up and coming name get the job like Demeco Ryans. But if Quinn gets the job, I would hope to see Ryans as Saleh's DC. I think Ryans is gonna be a good one.

49ers throwing other teams off by playing misdirection. This info is too easily accessible if this going to be their actual DC when Saleh leaves.

If Saleh somehow stays one more season, then I definitely would feel even more comfortable promoting Ryans in 2022 after another season of coaching and development. It sounds very much like Ryans is going to go the Mike Vrabel route and eventually become an HC.

I understand Bradley has had the Chargers defense actually ranked statistically good the past few years before now, but they've stunk whenever it really mattered. I don't want a defense that caves and is one-and-done in the playoffs.

I have a feeling that Ryans won't be the 49ers LB coach next season, no matter what Saleh does. 49ers will either make him a DC or some other team will.

I'd be shocked if Quinn gets anything higher than a DL coach job. He hasn't been a DC in a long time and nothing about his tenure with Atlanta was impressive defensively. He might very well just take 2021 off.
