Bullet dodged.

Smh. Cowboys just hire names.
Shanahan sounds like he already knows Ryans is the guy they planned on giving it to all along whenever Saleh left. Just reading between the lines:

"We've got a lot of other good guys on our staff, and I know there will be a number of options," head coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this month. "... So, I expect whatever we end up deciding here, and obviously, we'll wait to see what happens with Saleh, but I know the Niners will be alright."

At least this year he's prepared for his staff to be raided. I still remember after that 4-12 season before the Super Bowl loss, he lost some staff and was unprepared for them leaving. (Scangarello I think, was one of the surprise poaches that I could recall - that offseason).

We also don't seem overly concerned about any of our other staff getting taken, or even front office personnel. We must've come up with good contingency plans... Hopefully?

I think they were pleasantly surprised that the staff mostly stayed in tact after last year. That pretty much gave them another season to prepare for some of them to leave. They had to of known that guys like Saleh and Peters weren't going to be around much longer. Shanny and Lynch have talked about both leaving for like 2 years now

Any good leadership structure will have a grow and replace plan. Great leaders work themselves out of a job by allowing themselves to be replaceable. If they've hired the right people in that spot, then yeah, they'll be fine.

Maybe thats one reason Sowers was let go, to make room for some quality control guys to move up the food chain once either -or- both Mikes get hired.
Anyone remember when it was reported that we were thinking about doing co DCs with saleh and another guy? Who was that other guy again?

Kinda weird that could've been a thing. Glad it didn't happen, sounded like a disaster waiting go happen.
Jets.
Ryans is the new dc. Lock this b***h up

Still saying if he leaves, promote Ryans and hire pat Willis as LB coach.

Pat was an incredible leader, we need that mentorship for all-pro Fred.

Pat is not fit to coach or we would be coaching

I actually asked him this question on his IG live stream. He said he may consider coaching at some point, but he's enjoying retirement for a while. Coaching is a grind, so it makes sense that players dont want to jump directly into it after they retire. Willis would be a fantastic LB coach whenever he decides to return to the game.
with no proof how would he be fantastic, just cause he was a great player ?

How does anyone get into coaching without previous proof of success in coaching? Willis was a LB coach as a player. He got the green dot to call the defensive plays in the preseason of his rookie year. He mentored Bowman. He would be a great LB coach.
