Think of it this way, things that feel good aren't always good for you, like meth. Or so I've heard.

Lol look at us agreeing!

If you're rooting for the niners to win a meaningless game that hurts their long term goals, then you're not really a fan of the 49ers, you're a fan of instant gratification.

Doesn't have to hurt any long term goals. The player at #12 can be way better than the player at #7.

And in 2019 we we moved up 4-5 spots in the last week of the season allowing us to to take Bosa. Moving up helps too.

I think we only moved up one spot and that was because the Jets won if I remember.

Pretty much. Be a Browns fan if you want to celebrate every win no matter the circumstance. We're here for Super Bowls.

Although I don't think the it's ok to lose applies here.

Look at all those high picks over the last 20 years (most not even with the team anymore) and they're just now about to make the playoffs for the first time in almost 20 years.

AJ Jenkins picked #1, and Brady picked at what # again?
I guarantee more 1st round picks pan out than 5 or 6th round picks.

I love the guy that always brings up Brady. He was drafted 20 years ago. How many players since then have been taken in the 6ths round. How many are pro bowlers. Now, do the same analysis for 1st rounders.
Anyone do a wellness check on Fanaticofnfl? Dude was ready to jump earlier, lol.

It was more than that. Dallas winning moved us up further. Lots of games broke our way that week.

So then we agree then that there are no guarantees in the draft then, regardless of where you're picking. Cool.

Anyway, tbh if we lost I wouldn't have been devastated or anything, of course draft position is a silver lining. But I'll never root for the squad to lose. Not in my DNA.

I want SF in the best position to get the player they want in a lost season. That's all.

I still root for the players, but understand what's better for the team in the long-term.

Who says Jones will be there? You? They might have to move up for him just as well. QBs always get pushed up.

Who says that he won't? You're not going to have 5 QBs going in the top 10 picks. Only one time has there been more than 5 going in the first round period.

If you're arguing that Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance and Jones will ALL go before the 49ers pick then I'll take the strong historical odds against that happening and disagree with you.

Cole Beasley had a game winning TD that gave us the 2nd overall pick

Not if the plan is to move up regardless...just cost more

Which makes moving to a top spot from farther down becomes less attractive than just using the pick.

A lot of the 1st round picks that worked out weren't top 10 picks.

The Jets got killed. We moved up on on SOS because of many other games but particularly the Dallas win.

Who said were drafting top 10? Right now they're drafting 14th and the way you've propped up Jones no way he's going 14th...especially if teams right behind us want him and move ahead. We all know QBs get pushed up.

The way i see it 49ers win at all costs and let the chips fall where they may.

Way off base. belongs in PL

Thats true. But the hit rate is higher in the top 10.
