Pretty much. Be a Browns fan if you want to celebrate every win no matter the circumstance. We're here for Super Bowls.

Although I don't think the it's ok to lose applies here.

Look at all those high picks over the last 20 years (most not even with the team anymore) and they're just now about to make the playoffs for the first time in almost 20 years.

AJ Jenkins picked #1, and Brady picked at what # again?
I guarantee more 1st round picks pan out than 5 or 6th round picks.

No doubt. I was just pointing out not all high picks are bullseyes, and a gem was picked way at the end.

Who said were drafting top 10? Right now they're drafting 14th and the way you've propped up Jones no way he's going 14th...especially if teams right behind us want him and move ahead. We all know QBs get pushed up.

Jones could go out and win a NC and I doubt he goes Top 15. A lot of teams and fans over fads. Teams and fans want young, offensive minded head coaches. Teams and fans want QBs that can run around and throw it a mile. QBs that are methodical and accurate but have no elite physical traits just aren't sexy.
Meaningless win. I am rooting for the long term now that we are out. Do I want the 49ers to win? Yeah, but a high draft pick could help us next year and later too when it matters. The probability of landing a better player when drafting higher increases. Also, spending less capital to move up would be beneficial so we can keep more picks. Now I stead of spending a 1st and a 3rd to move up, we now have to trade this years 1st, 3rd, and next years 1st as well (example).

Could you land a great player later picks? Sure, but the chances diminish. We've seen this happen to us before and it has hurt us big time in recent years for that mistake.

I love the guy that always brings up Brady. He was drafted 20 years ago. How many players since then have been taken in the 6ths round. How many are pro bowlers. Now, do the same analysis for 1st rounders.

A lot of the 1st round picks that worked out weren't top 10 picks.

Thats true. But the hit rate is higher in the top 10.

Statistically there are more pro-bowlers and all-pros picked after #10.

You're not talking about the difference between picking 1st or picking 7th. You're talking about the difference between picking 8th and 15th. In terms of player quality, the gap there is far less significant.

Sounds more like that's what you want to happen

Jones going higher than where he's being projected is still somewhere in pick 15-20.
ARod - late first rounder
Brees - 2nd rounder
Wilson - 2nd rounder
Mahomes - 10th overall (wouldn't cost us much to trade to 10)
Brady - 6th rounder
Big Ben - 11th overall
etc.

And keep in mind, the teams ahead of you may have different needs, so you may still get who you want.

Yes you're right no QB drafted in the top 10 has ever been good lol.

Where did I say that? I was just proving the point that SB winning QBs don't need to be top 10.

Jones is widely projected as a late 1st to early 3rd rounder. So what does earlier mean? Drafted in the 40s? 30s? 20s?

This is just you being salty over the possibility that they don't draft Wilson, the same way you were upset when they didn't draft Jeudy or Lamb and in the end the team got the superior WR in Aiyuk anyways.

There's still a lot of time between now and the draft and a lot can change in a short period of time. Not sure there's any reason to freak out over it.

The "BUT ALL THE GOOD QBS WILL BE GONE ANYWAYS" rhetoric is too much. If that unlikely scenario happens then they trade for a vet or run it back with Garoppolo next season. Could always be worse.
At the end of the day if you're picking top 5 it means that you're roster and/or your coaching staff is absolute dog crap. Even with all the injuries, nobody should be sad that we aren't top 5 bad and are winning games we are underdogs in.
