Are you sure you're a niner fan? I never seen someone want to see his team fail just cause we didn't draft your boy.

insane. I mean he's already loaded and he could go back into broadcasting whenever I guess.

Because his legacy along with Kyle is Trey Lance. Why would you not ride that ship out of the port to see how she sails?
No way he leaves until this story is told..

Totally. First McDaniel, then Lynch wants to get back into TV, now Scangarello. Next, Alex Mack will retire because he doesn't want Lance's hand on his taint.

HA

FWIW Lynch turned down $15M to talk football once a week to remain the GM.

Lynch is an idiot let's all be real. Love his loyalty and competitiveness but bruh 15 mil for 17 days of work.

You forget he's already rich.

Plus if he ever wanted another GM job he'd be inheriting something far less ideal than SF.

Man, I've never seen that before, it doesn't even make sense.

That's right that's the reason rich people stop trying to make money.

Because in Bama's case he is probally not a Niners fan. I suspect that he created his account when he heard the rumors of Niners drafting Mac at #3. He's a Bama fan 1st and most.

His shtick is real old I knew immediately when the news broke that scangs was gone he'd be in this thread criticizing Trey and I've had him blocked for months
Who will replace him?

Some guys just have to have a way to satisfy that competitive itch.

I mean he probably turned down making more money at Fox to take the 49ers GM job.

Ever consider JL may have the dream job of his life once he hung ''em up on the field? And he is making plenty of money now for his wants, plus he is in the catbird seat of NFL…being a GM.

Probably every NFL fan in the world at one time or another, has a had a fanciful thot or two of being a NFL ( 9ers) GM. It's not realistic, of course, but we all can dream. Also it undoubtedly is a lot more satisfying and way more difficult to be a GM rather than a TV play by play guy. Lastly, guys like Aikman, Collinsworth, et al, are not "1 day" men. They travel to site of game, interview HC, GM, players…as many as possible…then prepare…so it isn't a 17 day job for the yr. Also, figure 2 days for travel, frequently not at home, etc.

John L has an incredibly cool job with great folks around him plus he gets to help build a championship team. And, he and HC are best buds. Not too hard a decision when you look at it in its entirety. Plus on a daily basis during NFL season he has a pretty fascinating 45 guys to hang around with.

But i know you posted that as "tongue in cheek".

Yup. Some guys want that thrill of winning or losing. Obviously Lynch is that type of person. This proves to me he legitimately loves his job and believes he is and has built something special in this organization. I hope we can all agree for as blindsided we all were when he got hired, he has exceeded expectations and definitely not the next "matt millen."
