We literally just signed Mack and some are already looking for his replacement. He's in for at least two seasons barring injury and maybe longer.

Isn't this dude like 35. Is he still any good?

Because he'll be 36 when the season starts and it takes a good 2 years for lineman to develop if you're lucky. 😁

When he retires you can go back into FA and pull out another starting C. Good centers can play well into their late 30s.

Great to have Mack to shore up C. I want Quinn Meinerz in the draft to plug into RG and prep to be the C of the future.
Rams are high on him so we need to keep him from them.

Seriously? He missed 1 block in like 600+ snaps in 2020, he's still a top tier C.

Really curious what kind of contract he got

My guess is gonna be 2 years 13 mil.

I'm hoping it's a 2-3yr deal worth $5M a yr, GTD 1st yr, partial guarantee yr 2 for injury, can get out after 2021 or 2022, would be nice to have him for the rest of his career. He can still go at 35, like Trent at 33.

Here is a long article about him, his career, and battles with the effect of those many blows. Lengthy but worth the read.

Interesting and sad article. Thanks for posting. Growing up I had a friend whose father played ten years on the offensive line for the Raiders, and his dad suffered a very similar fate to Forrest Blue. Debilitating dementia and withdrawal. The game is entertaining to watch, but pretty debilitating for most who play a long time ... such as ... Alex Mack! Welcome aboard, Bro!

perfectly understandable though. we need a good back up center and someone for the future. day three in the draft should solve that issue

Were we better off going for Hudson than Mack? Hudson I think is only 31.

Explain why we are besides age? What does Hudson do better?

also he's not officially cut.

Yeah, I'm talking strictly about the age difference.
