When's the last time a QB from Oregon panned out before Herbert?

When's the last time a QB from Texas Tech panned out before Mahomes?

I don't know if he has any credibility but some sports guy Larry Krueger tweeted that Trey Lance had an eye opening pro day in fargo and believes the Jets have centered in on him at #2 and is why the Eagles tried to move up to #3 for Wilson but the Niners beat them to it.

And ofcourse we then saw the Eagles trade down immediately afterwards. It kind of makes sense because that #6 pick the Dolphins would have gotten for the #3, they ended up getting anyways.

Never. Same as Ohio State and BYU.

Texas tech QBs? Wyoming QBs?

I read that the Jets might be targetting Trey Lance at #2. That would be great news for the Niners.

The Jet's are telling everyone they're going QB to generate interest in trading up for their pick. I think they're going Darnold and getting him help.

Seriously.

elite QBs are 1% and have nothing to with "what college" they went to.

When is the last time a quarterback from Wyoming panned out? Yup - once

Tom Brady says "hi"

Brady is the GOAT.

About the QB that today´s NFL is looking for is all about:

-Arm strength
-Mobility
-Can plays out of nothing

Brady is the GOAT but today´s coaches are looking for the new Mahomes

My main issue with that argument is that Shanny doesn't seem to value all that extremely highly and he is at or near the top of the heap.

Also, even if you take Brady out of the list, the last decade of Superbowls is still strongly skewed towards pocket passers.

Edit: Evil beat me to it

Been saying this for awhile on the Webzone. And no its not just a preference of mine either.

17 of the last 20 Superbowl Champions were pure pocket passers. In fact, all 17 of them were way less athletic than Mac Jons is.

There is a bonus to having a mobile QB though as well.. Like that you don't need to have as strong of an Offensive line to succeed early on. I don't like the Pocket passer VS. mobile Qb Narrative. I Don't really care what type of QB, as long as they are damn good.

The mobile type I'm talking about is like Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton or the Mike Vicks of the world. Do not like those types at all. I'd rather see my QB utilize the weapons he has around him than take off and risk tearing your ACL or whatever.

I am on the same page with you. I didn't mean to imply you were against them. Just some people on here are one or the other. I can see the strengths of both and the weaknesses of both and I believe both have a future in the NFL. That being said i think Mac Jones is one of the best pure pocket passers to have come out in a long time. This is why I think people are severely underrating him as a draft prospect.
