Eagerly awaiting Jonnydel's breakdown of all the likely candidates and their fit or lack thereof in the Shanny system.

I'm legit starting to get nervous.
The moment this trade happened I was so ecstatic because for weeks I've been like "I really want to get Miami's pick so we can lock up Fields or Wilson! That would be awesome!"
Now all the sudden we've got Simms, Maiocco, Mort, Orlovsky and Daniel Jeremiah all like "YEAHH MAC MAC MAC WOOOOO ****ING MAC!!!!! 👏👏👏" and now my excitement is evaporated.
If we want Mac so badly we could've just stayed at ****ing 12.

Well whoever we like there is no question we love one of Fields, Lance or Jones.
I'm thinking Fields but what do I know

Then we should get Darnold instead of Jones and draft Pitts at 3
That's a lot to deal for a TE, and Darnold isn't even worth a 1st rd pick IMO.

Cam ain't doing anything like that, he has like $15M reasons to play and play well.

One thing I HOPE didn't happen is that Kyle said to both JL and Peters, don't fight me on this, I am going to have one of two QBs. Period. That just brings back bad memories of a RB he HAD to have, Jet, Pettis, CJ, Mullie, and the fascination with Cuzins.
Please tell me this isn't a "Kyle has to have" scenario, because we have gotten burned on every one of the above. I pray this was a vote and it was unanimous. Got no idea if it was or not. It could have gone 2-1, also.
the. Real question is what happens to the other part of this equation... JG and the PATs? It almost has to be that way. Lawrence is a day one starter, no question. Could JL be looking at JG for a PATs EDGE + a 1st in 2022 or 2023 (if BB even has one?).
There's more coming out ...absolutely for sure.
Exactly my thought. Or worse, Kyle moving up to 3rd to take Mac Jones. But I have full confidence that they know what they are doing. Excellent offseason thus far.

I've now watched the pro days of Lawrence, Wilson, Lance and Jones. Not much of a surprise that Lawrence is 1. He's a machine. Wilson has pretty good touch and seems best suited to improvise when pressured because he's athletic and flexible and can throw with ease from different angles. Lance I was not blown away because he was not too accurate in shorts and sneakers, though I know throwing is only part of his game. Jones looks the least impressive physically, but he is accurate and supposedly the smartest and quickest processor of the lot.
Bottom line, I don't know what the hell the Niners were thinking sending all those picks for the #3. I wouldn't be doing cartwheels for Lance. I haven't seen the Fields Pro Day yet, but my initial impression is that I prefer him over Lance. To run Shanahan's offense I probably like Jones the best because he's excellent at the quick slants and seams with his accuracy and he's probably smarter than Garoppolo and might avoid some of those bonehead plays we've grown accustomed to. I think he would be a cheaper, younger, slightly better version of what we have, which is a positive, but I highly question why we sent so many picks if that's the target. He does not appear to be the second coming of Joe Montana.
This was an impulse purchase. They wanted the #2 pick, couldn't get it, and settled for the next best they could get, but next best after the first two is a significant drop off. Hopefully at least they can take the savings from Jimmy's contract and apply it to lock up Warner and Bosa and just be a complete football team. Maybe the slight upgrade of Jones over Garoppolo is enough to put them over the top if they keep a complete, well balanced team intact. Lance will be a train wreck, because they won't let him run in the NFL and his accuracy is crap. You read it here first. Fields I'm still interested in learning more about.

I think Lawrence will bust. He is living off the National championship. Wilson is the best QB in the draft.

this doesn't make sense. lawrence and wilson are arguably worth that much capital but stretching it. remaining qbs are trash.

This has the makings of a massive disaster. Can't for the life of me figure out why ShanaLynch would go out and do a damn fool thing like that. Unlike some other teams, we were not so QB desperate that we had to go out and spend 3 first round picks for this one pick. And for what? To sit behind Jimmy for one or 2 years? U want your 3rd pick overall to be an immediate impact player, like a Nick Bosa. And very few QBs can come in as a rookie and be decent, or better then Jimmy. Joe Burrows, maybe. Occasionally, you have a Lamar Jackson, or a Deshaun Watson, who can start as a rookie and be good. But that's rare.
The only other possibility is that they are not taking a QB and they are taking Sewell. He is worth a 3rd pick overall. But not worth 2 additional first rounders. Well, whichever QB ShanaLynch picks better be the next coming of Patrick Mahomes. Where he can sit behind Jimmy for a season or 2, like Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith. Which means that this coming season is a rebuilt and not a contenting for the SB season. Sigh.

I think Fields and Lance are better than the number 1 QB next year. Mac looks like a 2nd round pick to me in a normal non Covid draft
