I just hope that if it's Mac - that he doesn't bust.
Mac Jones' ceiling is probably higher than Garoppolo, he'll execute an offense more efficiently when up to speed and won't make all of the head scratcher throws, and he'll do it at a cheaper price. He also would probably have been available at 12, and almost certainly at 6. The biggest win with him is that you'd get comparable performance with big cost savings, so the team can remain all-around solid. If Jimmy G. was able to get us 10 minutes from a Lombardi, I guess the thinking is a Jimmy ver. 2.0 with some bug fixes and enhanced user interface puts us over the top. Just sucks the price is so high.
I agree there, he would probably be better than Jimmy.

Crazy day. We were all excited when we traded for 3. Now we are trying to accept the fact it is Mac Jones. Lol
Its not Mac Jones. Chris Simms and Kyle Shanahan are best friends. So close that they got matching tattoos. Chris Simms is a vocal part of the NFL media. Why would Chris Simms be blasting Mac Jones to the Niners rumors if thats who Shanahan actually wanted? Its called a smokescreen. Whatever Chris Simms says, I take as a diversion as to what SF is really thinking.
It's not a smokescreen. They already made the trade and no one is trading up ahead of them for anyone not named Zach Wilson.

What a bunch of s**t. Mac Jones has never had to or delivered multiple comebacks with a 2017 49ers roster. Jimmy has IT factor that the "we want Carr" masses have so quickly forgotten.

It's a two QB draft - after Lawrence and Wilson, it's a crap shoot for next three QB's. Lance has only played one season of football: Jones has a weak arm and Fields lacks experience. We might have been better staying at #12 and taking BPA and do this all over again for the QB's next year.

Someone could still trade up to 2 for the right price. What if the Jets love Wilson, Lance, and Fields, and Atlanta covets one of them enough to swap their 4 for the Jets 2?
Also, what makes any of these rumors legitimate? Why would the 49ers have told anyone what they're doing at 3?
Chris Simms being close to Shanahan and trumpeting "Dont forget Mac Jones! Niners could take Mac Jones!" is a pretty obvious smokescreen to me.

lol how so? SLC is one of the cleanest, most organized big cities in the country. Their downtown has wide streets with full sized parking lanes on either side.
