This only makes sense if its some kind of a smoke screen. Giving up the next 2 years of 1st rd picks (this early in the game) can only mean that a QB is in play.

As others have been saying, maybe the Jets have already locked in on a prospect and Saleh gave Shanahan the heads up.

This must be that case, assuring that the guy Kyle wants will be there at #3. We know Saleh got love for Kyle and would have no problem filling Kyle in on the Jets' plan.

What if the Jets trade out of #2. If they are not looking for a QB, they have a ton of holes to fill. Does Saleh immediately become a traitor?

Great question to consider. Could it be the 49ers know the Jets are 100% keeping Darnold? I mean rumors had it that we were interested and there was a lot of smoke for there to not to be **any** fire there.
