Not really, that tells me the Jets weren't willing to trade down from #2 because if the 9ers were willing to trade up to #3 they were willing to trade up to #2 to secure their guy. The Jets want a QB at #2 and is most likely going to be Zach Wilson even if the 9ers were to prefer Wilson. My guess is the 9ers will take Trey Lance. Fields is also a possibility, but my guess is Shanny and Lynch prefer Trey Lance.

They're going to take Lance, dude has the biggest boom potential and after seeing Mahomes beat them in the SB he reminds them of him. Kyle is very confident in his coaching and the talent around him that Lance will not be a bust. I'm perfectly fine with Lance and hoping it's him. Jets aren't passing on Wilson

This is a very good point. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets trade with us and then trade down again a little bit for more picks. New coaching staff can see what they have in Darnold. If he flames out, they will likely be picking very high again next year and have the draft capital to move to basically any spot they want.

hardly, he was drafted to be a backup and a backup he is,

He was a 6th round talent that Shanahan traded up for in the 3rd. You don't move up in the 3rd for a backup QB.

Shanny has never developed a rookie QB either. Im very nervous.

True Dat....I hate deals like this as we have seen before. RG III, Sam Bradford, Carson Wentz and most of the high trade value DRAFT TRADE QB'S kinda suck.

Josh Allen, Pat Mahomes and Deshaun Watson were huge trade ups as well

I'm just trying to figure out what the plan is here.

Go all in for a SB this year with the current team and Jimmy while getting the new QB ready then what? Complete rebuild as they wont be able to afford to keep next years free agents.

The 49ers can compete for a SB in 2021 with Jimmy. With a rookie QB, they cant. Plain and simple.
