Kyle is very confident in his coaching and the talent around him that Lance will not be a bust. I'm perfectly fine with Lance and hoping it's him. Jets aren't passing on Wilson

He also has the biggest bust potential. He by far played on the most stacked team of any top QB out there. NDSU has won like 9 of the past 11 FCS championships. Most of their games are played against absolute cupcakes where their talent level just flat out overwhelms the other teams. He's got a ton of potential but there's also a lot of risk considering his relative inexperience as a passer. Just one year as a starter and in an offense where he had a low volume of passes too.

That would be the ultimate #YOLO move by Shanahan and Lynch. If it worked out, they'd look like geniuses. If it flopped, they'd get fired.
A lot of you guys are overthinking it, tell y'all selves this. You think Saleh coaching his 1st team and Douglas are going to put their jobs on the line for Darnold? If you guys were coaching your first team would you put your job on the line with Darnold or take your guy?

Go all in for a SB this year with the current team and Jimmy while getting the new QB ready then what? Complete rebuild as they wont be able to afford to keep next years free agents.

I don't get it.
The plan is to build a long term competitive team

Shanny has never developed a rookie QB either. Im very nervous.

RG3 looked like a god his rookie season before his knee was shredded

Chargers did just fine.

I am going to assume the 49ers do not want to go 7-9.

That had nothing to do with QB play and you know it....

You should probably say then that Justin Herbert did just fine, cause the Chargers didn't even make the playoffs and their coach got canned. Quite the opposite of someone doing just fine.

What will (probably) happen knowing the 49ers - Mac Jones

Scary but yeah...

Good point.

Wilson is at least the equal of Herbert.

I wouldn't be shocked if they took Sewell, Douglas is all about OL/DL.
Supposedly we made the same offer to the jets and they said no. they told the eagles no. Maybe, but not today. Imo they will swap with us closer to the draft if thats true.

Kyle likes someone else enough to do it. Fields. Lance or Jones obviously.

What games are you talking about?

Watch when Coastal Carolina had him clueless this past season. Beating the brake off BYU..... I said Coastal Carolina!!!. I'll send my phone number to you so we can discuss!!!!!!!!!

They traveled across country, scheduling them only days before. Wilson didn't play terrible but BYU was punched right in the mouth.

49ers aren't getting to a Superbowl with a rookie QB.... A healthy Jimmy G gets you into the playoffs.

We'll know soon enough. If they're going to deal Garoppolo then they'll deal him before the draft.

itll have to be a nice load of picks

How is having a QB on a rookie contract equal rebuilding?

They're gonna have a f**k ton of cash to spend on good vets and pay Bosa/Warner

Salary cap will be up next year. Must admit, though, that I hope they are planning on starting Garoppolo this year.

Similar plan to KC when they traded up for Mahomes. They had a good to very good team but knew Alex Smith wasn't the long term answer.

If they trade/cut Jimmy next offseason they save over $20 million on the cap. Enough to re-sign Warner and plan ahead for Bosa
