We won't know that regardless of who we take until about 2023. By then we'll know if the QB we took is the real deal and our franchise player or if we devastated our future with this shot in the dark.

And that's all the draft is for those that haven't figured it out already, one big crapshoot. After following the team for 30+ years I don't even pay much attention to the draft anymore. Teams almost never take who I thought they would and there is no telling how a player is gona turn out.

It tells me the Jets weren't willing to trade down from #2 because if the 9ers were willing to trade up to #3, they were willing to trade up to #2 to secure their guy. The Jets want a QB and is most likely going to be Zach Wilson even if the 9ers were to prefer Wilson.

The 9ers will take Trey Lance now.

Jimmy will start because no rookie is going to play better Jimmy at this point and we aren't going to throw our season away.

Well they had to pick a QB sometime...And we ideally aren't getting this close to the front of the draft again for a long time.

honestly didnt think Herbert would be that good in the pro's.

surprised me.

But the prior year he was predicted to be the top QB by many. He just slipped his Last year, maybe not his fault.

The point is, Herbert did what he did with no off-season to really learn the offense. If the Chargers had a better defense they would have made the playoffs.
