He has no leverage. What's he going to do hold out? Then they just start the rookie. Plus that tanks his value since it looks like he is afraid to compete.

Ballsy move. I'm not Shanahan or Lynch's biggest fan, but I applaud this trade.

My god this is chess moves. Keep Jimmy to groom the rookie for a year. Then trade him back to NE next year. Use the cap space to extend Warner and Bosa

That seems very plausible.

The question I´m asking myself is if this trade was for Watson originally. And then with the lawsuit, they decided to go all in for a QB.
Honestly, that´s a little bit too much for me. For Watson, I don´t mind. But for a rookie QB??? For me one first rounder and two second rounders could have done the deal.
But well, kudos to Kyle and John to go for it. I´d love the fact they will keep Jimmy.
Now just draft an edge rusher or Kellen Mond.

IF you offered a 1st and 2 2nds to move to 3rd overall they'd laugh at you and hang up.

They basically gave up two future 1sts which will more than likely be bottom of the 1st. They didn't lose a single pick in this yrs draft (2022 3rd) and are getting extra 3rds the next two yrs.

They can also move Jimmy some point to recoup some value in those future drafts.

They're drafting a QB at 3 dude. Have no idea where Mond is coming from. There isn't a EDGE rusher worth a top 25 pick let alone giving up yrs of 1sts.

They will both be the #32 picks because we're going to win back to back Super Bowls.

I like your thinking sir.

Broncos or Panthers trading up to 2 would be our luck.

I am not buying all this for Jones...you wait till the draft and see if he is there at like 10...you dont hop up there now to 3.

^ This

If we were going for Jones we would have traded up to 6 with the Eagles like the Dolphins just did.

Challenge is after the Jets pick....there are 3 other teams with legit QB needs. So don't agree.
I'm not saying I agree with it but if Mac Jones is at the top of their board then you trade up to get him

I love Mac. Fantastic season at Alabama and he should be a first rounder. But a trade up like this for him?^^

If you believe he is a FQB then yes why not?

Regardless of what anyone says or believes, one cannot assure Atlanta, Carolina, Denver and even New England wouldn't take him or look to trade up into position to get him.

What games are you talking about?

Watch when Coastal Carolina had him clueless this past season. Beating the brake off BYU..... I said Coastal Carolina!!!. I'll send my phone number to you so we can discuss!!!!!!!!!

They traveled across country, scheduling them only days before. Wilson didn't play terrible but BYU was punched right in the mouth.

Wilson was running around like Russel Wilson, making throws all over the field. It wasn't his fault CC won the game.

He looked bad. Dont watch the highlights watch the whole game.

You can scan through and just watch BYU offensive series

Around 12 mins in the announcer says exactly what I've been saying. wilson has been untouched all year and coastals pressure was the first time and causing him problem....

I watched a few BYU games this year. At no point was I ever "Wilson is the guy."

??? Didnt really understand that but Naah!

I agree with you, yet to look at the devils advocate maybe they got Intel that JONES was going higher.

I don't see the JONES/KS fit but whatever
Feels like Mac Jones will be the pick. High football IQ/Film Junkie, anticipation, good footwork in the pocket and he goes through the progressions. That's Kyle's ideal QB.
