Mac Jones is a 2nd round talent at best. Mac Jones is Jimmy Garoppolo reincarnate. A beneficiary of elite talent around him & elite scheme but the thing is Mac is a poor man's Jimmy G and you don't draft that guy with the 3rd pick unless your a idiot or your just that arrogant in your coaching and scheme. what professional nfl team do you scout for? what sports network pays you for your expertise on analyzing college football players?

Do you have to be a professional scout to give your opinion on a draft prospect? It's also not like the professional scouts get it right all the time either.

I assume the point he was making was that Shanahan, Lynch, Peters and so on are professionals who are paid quite a lot for their knowledge and experience. I don't think anyone would call these people idiots.
There seems to be a body of opinion that relishes the idea that we will take Jones, that he will bust and that Shanahan will be fired. I am unconvinced that we will take him but, if you research rather that just echo received opinion, there are a number of reasons why he should be a success in the NFL. And Shanahan is entirely capable of building an offense around his quarterback's strengths.
