Kyle, literally, sat courtside watching Bill Walsh get the best out of both through that well crafted scenario. And when Young was ready, they still got a draft pick for Montana because he was still playing at a competitive level because of Young.

I think Fields or Jones will be it.

Zach Wilson will be taken at 2, he is just too good.

Lance is too raw and huge gamble for Lynch to trade that far up for.

The trade says they are really high on at least two qbs. Guessing Wilson and Lance. Considering they are probably rolling with Jimmy this year regardless I would rather they have gambled on one of their guys dropping a few spots and if it didn't happen they could have pulled a trade next draft but i dig this plan too. There is always the chance that the new qb looks great and Jimmy tears it up in which they could trade one and recoup picks.

If not, this will be the move that Shanahan and Lynch get fired over

It's two firsts, likely late, and a late 3rd if the QB pans out.

Justin Fields will be, at best, a backup in this league. He is Dwayne Haskins part 2- put up huge numbers against the awful team that make up the Big Ten.


What a bad take. Fields absolutely balled out against Clemson and did the best the could while injured and his team clearly overmatched by Bama. He is nothing like Haskins.

Garapollo has a no trade clause so he can control where he goes. It isn't a terrible situation for him or the 49ers. He gets to at least start the year and show he is back from injury and if a trade is worked out mid-season it could be to a team he likes with a new deal attached. Maximizes value for both parties.

That is the key. Until he does that, he isn't worth very much.
