Niners trade for #3 overall

We know Lawrence is going #1. Then it depends on who goes #2. At this point it looks like Wilson or Lance. The Niners will have a choice between Wilson?Lance, Fields and Jones. I think #3 would be too high for Jones so I'm thinking they're hoping Lance or Fields is there at #3. I can also see the them trading Jimmy on draft day depending on who they get.

Best part of this trade is it gives them a shot at landing young QB that can lead the team for the next few years without sacrificing too much. The two 1st rounders in 2022 and 2023 will probably be late picks. The 3rd rounder is the 2022 pick they got for Mayhew. They end up moving up and still end up with the same number of picks. If they trad eJimmy for a 2nd next year that helps cover the lost of the first. I just listened to Greg Cosell and he broke down the possible 4 choices they could have. He feels they all have something to offer but they all lack experience. He said Jones may be the best if you want a guy that can step in right now but he really likes Lance's overall game. Great athleticism, great arm and he's played with a fullback, taken snaps from under center and played with his back to the line. Those are all things he would need to do with the Niners. He's probably the guy that could potentially bring thr most excitement.

All and all a very smart trade if the pick ends up being the right guy.

Not only is mortgaging your future for a FQB already a gamble, but if they were to take Jones with Lance and Fields on the board, that's also a huge gamble too.

sounds like they didnt even attempt to trade with Jets, from what Shefter or whoever it was said..

A second rd pick. The cost is not the issue, it's wether the jets want to. I'm hoping the jets eyeing another QB besides Wilson.

Soon we will find out who they are in love with. If they know Jets are taking wilson then they must be in love with Fields or Lance

Justin Fields will be, at best, a backup in this league. He is Dwayne Haskins part 2- put up huge numbers against the awful team that make up the Big Ten. I hope to God he isn't the pick.
Trey Lance is a myth. Who has actually what he's this guy play a football game against a team anyone has heard of
That only really leaves Mac Jones- who I do like but this is an awful lot to pay for him.
My only hope is that Saleh has given Shanahan some insight into what the Jets will do with #2, and they don't plan on taking Wilson.
If not, this will be the move that Shanahan and Lynch get fired over

they are sold but it doesn't mean its the player we want, but trading to 12 takes them out of who they want
