Only wilson would be worthy.

This x 1 billion. Stupid trade unless they know their guy is available. You don't trade up hoping to pick up any qb available. Dumb.

Maybe their guy isn't Wilson

This is such an interesting take for me. Fields played on a pro like team. Balled in his bowl game. Played against elite players. Yet the guy that played against lesser players, is the guy people want. I'm not knocking Lance, just interesting that people feel this way about Fields.

Puzzled by this too. I watch a ton of NDSU. Lance for the level of competition played on a much more stacked team than anyone else and by far has thrown the fewest passes. I wouldn't put him ahead of Fields who is significantly more accomplished but just as athletically gifted.

Lance might have the biggest upside but also has the strongest odds of doing a complete face flop in the NFL.

I feel this way as well. Fields seems more accurate to me of the two, and it feels like he has dealt with a muddy pocket more often.
I think it's Fields. I'm fine with whoever we pick, but would be a little underwhelmed by Jones.
I will be ecstatic if it's Wilson, Fields or Jones. I'll be okay with Lance too. But Wilson is gonna be a Jet most likely.
i like Mac, but its a reach to take him that high.

I don't want Mac Jones. To me, he screams a ceiling of Andy Dalton. Solid starter, but someone you'll eventually want to upgrade after 5-7 years of finding out he isn't "the one".

Fields is #1 on my list. Lance is #2. Either works, but I'd prefer Fields due to him being more battle tested.
Fields on my list
Mac Jones.

I get it. He could be good. But you don't trade multiple future 1sts to get him.

Lol lots of hearts are probably going to be broken. Jones makes the most sense in terms of Shanahan's previously stated preferences and previously stated words about the risk of first round QBs. Jones is often considered the "low-ceiling, high-floor" guy after all, and he's kind of a Matt Ryan clone.

*Assuming the Jets take Wilson, of course.

But do you really give up that much draft capital to take "the safe guy"?

There's the other side of the coin: do you RISK that much capital on a guy who isn't least likely to bust?

Additionally, there's the point that Jones isn't some Chad Pennington. He can make every throw, and he has made some GREAT throws as well.

And if he's the Shanahan archetype, there's reason to believe Atlanta might have wanted him.

So, if I were people here, I'd brace myself emotionally for Jones.

You do if you feel he is the guy. I haven't seen anything about Fields or Wilson being a boom or bust players; an all or nothing type. I've heard that about Lance. I'm missing your point as to why ATL would want him if he's a Shanahan type QB.
I'm not high on Lance, too raw.

I'll kick my own ass if its mac jones, You dont give up that kind draft capital for mac jones
It's Fields. He sits a year.
I like Jones but do you really have to trade up to 3 to get him? You could trade up to 7 to get him and only giving up one 1st RD pick.
Solomon Thomas, DL, Stanford.
