In hindsight, was Vernon Davis worth the 6th Overall in 2006?

We did not have a good defensive line. BY was already at the end of his career and the rest were avg at best.

I didn't bump it Chief!

That said, if Mac Jones was drafted to this team, which is what I preferred. Would Mac have performed better here than NE? Trey was drafted to a better situation and yet Mac was still better.

Mac Jones had character flags with the drinking and party life style, low and behold....he was cancer.

I think he would have done better here, but there is no way he would be a culture fit on a mature team laser focused on the post season.

I was one of the pro-mac jones guys...and watched most of his games as a pro....there is just no way.....the dude has some of the worst body language I have ever seen....few people in any career field wants to work with a dude like that.

I liked Mac Jones, and detested Alex Smith.....I would much ...muuuuuccchhhhh rather root for Alex Smith though the ups and downs due to his personality. At least you can root for a guy like that....Just like Trey....I can root for a guy like that, and recognize Mac Jones is a better QB....but lord knows I would rather root for Trey and watching him struggle than root for Jones.

I'm just happy we got Brock! And all of our picks
He was worth it at the time. He ended up being our best receiver. I think Manny Lawson was more of a missed pick than Vernon was. That said if you had to choose between him and Walker and could only choose one, I would pick Delanie.
I think he was worth it.
Based on who else was available at that spot, Davis was the best selection where we took him. He could have been one of the best TE ever, he just had a soft personality. If he was hard edged like George, Kelce etc Davis could have been a beast. As a fan I liked the pick then and in hindsight I still do, but he did disappoint imo.
No. He was good at what he did. But Kittle is just as good.
Anytime you draft a player with your first round pick and they go onto to have a solid career it's a good pick.
Yes
Hate it when VD comes back……
VD was solid until he got speared by Kam Chancellor. I've seen guys change the way they play on the field after getting whacked (Anthony Davis hit by Neal Colzie; Herschel Walker…can't remember who hit him; Brian Bosworth hit by Bo Jackson, etc.). So it happens you just hate to see the effect of a hard hit change someone on your team
No
