Nick Bosa is the run away winner. Outside of Aldon Smith for a couple of seasons, we haven't had the dominant edge rusher since Charles Haley.

After that, I was very excited for the Michael Crabtree pick. Thought it was crazy, but not surprising that the Raiders took DHB. I figured we had a shot at an elite receiver when we drafted Crabtree.

The trade up for Joe Staley was great as well. I didn't know much about him at the time, but I just wanted something better at tackle. I liked the bold move.

Double dipping at O-line in 2010 was great too. Not sexy picks, but I felt we were going to take that next leap after a promising 2009 season. Alex Smith even looked like the light bulb really came on.

Finally Vernon Davis. The 4.38 40-time at 250 + lbs. I thought we were drafting an absolute monster.

Although we have had more down than up years in the last 20, we had some good picks every now again that prevented us from sinking to 1990s Bengals or Rams level of ineptitude.

just won the super bowl and I'm a diehard UCLA fan so I was very familiar with him. Thought they pulled another Rice pick 10 years later

I was Stoked about JJ to. He was supposed to be the next great niner WR.
No question it was Bosa and Crabtree for me. Crabtree probably the most, because no one thought he was going to be there. Obviously, that pick didn't work out very well. But no one was not excited at the time.
Crabtree. Just because it was a good surprise.

That being said, Bosa and Willis were the only jerseys I bought before their first game. Hopefully I will be ordering a Fields jersey soon.
I can see the 49ers trading down, if they think they can get their guy later. I don't really understand their logic, unless they plan on getting Wilson and the Jets aren't planning on taking him. Who else do they think would be gone after the 3rd pick?

It's all so confusing!
Buckner
Before that.....excited for crabtree
Alex Smith
Michael Crabtree
Vernon Davis
Nick Bosa

No lie i was hyped for foster
Alex Smith
Willis and Bosa.
For Willis I remember the excitement to get an stud LB. And his first preseason game he destroyed Adrian Peterson. Dude was so much fun to watch troughout his career.
For Bosa it was exciting to finally get some pass rush after years of a washed up Elvis Dumervil or Cassius Marsh.
I won't lie, the Solly and Foster picks got me excited because of how much hype these guys had. And how horrific the defense was in 2016.
For Buckner too, even if I actually wanted Ronney Stanley, Buckner was literally BPA and I was very excited with the pick.

The entire league was hyping rookie GM John Lynch as a genius for getting Solly and Foster. I was hyped as well for them. The 2016 defense was historically horrible.
I remember this place being super excited for Manny Lawson... or maybe that was a different website?
I was at the draft party when they drafted crabtree. Everyone was so excited about crabtree. I was looking around at all the drunk f**ks trying to figure out why they were excited. I knew he was gonna suck.
Those 2017 picks stinging right now
