Most vivid memory of excitement about a draft pick was Crabs for sure. I didn't watch college ball much but I remember seeing his game winning catch while watching a game in Vegas the year before and was just so shocked that he fell all the way to us. I dont think he was a complete bust, but certainly did not live up to his full potential.

Under the circumstances I don't recall ever being more excited for a draft pick than this go round. We have an opportunity to choose what may be our first franchise QB in 22 years. At this point I am optimistic and feel that we will make the right decision.

I was actually excited, I like Alex Smith, but we should have went with Rodgers, but his attitude issues he had turned Mike Nolan off, still can't believe he dropped so far, now he's a 1st ballot HOF, while Alex will likely never be a HOF'er, I still feel for him, that injury, coming back, unsigned, apparently the Texans may sign him if Watson isn't on the team.

I hated that pick, and AJ Jenkins. I don't get why or how either went in the 1st rd. I'd also say back in 2000 I was pumped for Ahmed Plummer and Julian Peterson, I think I bought a replica jersey of both after they got drafted.
