That's not how this works. You need to show that this pick was worth it. I don't need to justify my opinion that it was irresponsible to give up so many picks. You'll understand when we are watching all the other teams drafting in the first round for the next few years.

Lol yes that is how it works. You were the one stating that there was 'no reason' so therefore it is up to you to justify this claim.

meh - niners would have very low 1st round picks anyways because this team is going to win!

For all we know SF trades back a few times in the next couple days and, say, picks up 2nd and 3rd round picks for the 2022 draft. Then next year they use some of those extra picks to trade up into the late 1st round. BOOM - a 1st rd pic recovered.

I'm pissed because there was no reason to cough up so much to trade up that little.

Check the draft value chart.

Even the people who still go by the classic Jimmy Johnson trade value chart disagree on the value of a pick in a future draft, but pretty much everyone agrees that they have less value than that team's pick in this year's draft. The most common belief I've heard is that a first round pick in next year's draft has about the value of a second-round pick at the same position the team is picking in this year's draft. Thus a first-rounder next year from a team that finished with the twelfth worst record this year would be about the value of the 44th pick. A pick two years out would have less value still. Think about it, if someone wanted you to loan them money for a year, you would want them to pay interest. If they won't pay you back for two years, you'd want even more interest.

When you look at the chart with that in mind, it was a reasonable trade. There are other standards on this...the most generous I've heard was that next year's first rounder is worth the last pick in the first round this year. But again, a pick in two years would have less value still.

What are some of the biggest meltdowns in webzone history from the decisions of the front office?

The two that come to mind was the hiring of Jim Tomsula with his terrible press conference and Jim Harbaugh declaring Alex Smith the starter in 2011

How about jimmy raye and kwame harris that prompted one of the most famous and hilarious thread on the forum...aka the photoshop thread
