And that's the thing !!!! In the interest of full disclosure i follow zero ncaa ball. I have zero insight of who any of this guys are.

Lots of noise going on out there, I get it....very annoying.

My gut tells me we are keeping Jimmy and NOT drafting Jones.

I know it's fashionable to think that Kyle thinks he's the smartest man in the room, all the time, that he's able to do anything, nothing is a risk with him at the helm, but don't think we've seen that bear out totally.

As I've said before, drafting Jones is a huge risk given the optics of the game lately, and the draft capital expended. He would have to be a sure shot blue chip pick and have a really good career to justify it.

Fields and Lance.....and Wilson? Wouldn't need to prove themselves quite as much, even though ironically they all need to prove themselves the same. We all know, enough years as a Niner QB and you have to deliver the goods or else (right Steve Young?).

If we traded for Deshaun Watson and got all the sexy stats and plays, but never WON ANYTHING, every excuse in the book would rationalize the trade. Hell he could play worse than Jimmy, never reach the NFC Championship game and still be seen as better, the right choice, worth every penny. We live in a time when optics matter so much more than it should. Sad reality but true.

Draft Jones and it feels like you are drafting Tom Brady from the combine shot, not Tom Brady the comeback guy against the Falcons in the SB. Imagine if he turned out no better than Jimmy? It would feel like we drafted Ryan Leaf, even if he was much better, LOL.

Everyone thinks their team has no hope when they don't have a long-term answer at QB. That's really what it boils down to. When you get the position right, everything else falls into place.

Give them credit, where credit is due.

They turned the franchise around in two years, even if Mac Jones is a bust, doesn't mean it is the end of the world.

There will be more QBs via the draft or free agency, more opportunity, don't get why people are getting so bent up over this.
