There's too much smoke around a Mac pick. And where there's smoke there's fire.
Also it's too like how Kyle operates. Really loves to overpay for his guy. Remember CJ, Pettis, Joe Williams. He enjoys squandering draft picks.

Have any of you ever had such a hard time deciding what the Niners should do. Remember we were all trying to decide if they should pick Jones if he fell to #12 or go with another position and look for a QB in round 2. Then they pulled of one of the biggest trades in team history.

Suddenly Jones went from a possible pick at #12 to a possible #3 overall. Then Fields jumped up. Then Lance.

Now it's whether they should keep Jimmy no matter who they pick or trade him and try to recoup one of those 1st round picks. Even if they don't get a 1st rounder for him, they could trade 2 second rounders for a future first. So many options here and there just isn't one that's a hands down no brainer.

I have no idea who they're going to pick. My choice would be Lance because of his upside and the system he played under. I'll be okay with Fields as well. Disappointed with Jones only because he'll be over drafted at #3. I'd like to keep Jimmy for another year but I understand the risk of getting nothing for him if he gets injured again. There just isn't a perfect scenario here.

Pretty much this. Any guy they've moved up for has pretty much been a bust too. How can they get so excited and move up and then miss? That's so much worse than just missing when they come to you.

If whomever they pick doesn't hit the ground running there will be so many excuses. It'll take pretty much the whole rookie contract before they'd ever decide to move on. So it could set back the Franchise at least 5 years. Not to mention coach and GM firings. If the pick is Mac Jones and he's not rookie of the year, I'm done with him already. He's supposed to be ready right now, right?
