Talent
Coaching

By all accounts Trey has all of those so he's definitely setup for success and if he puts in the effort the rest should fall into place.

Another big thing which really cannot be foreseen until the player is actually out there is how does he deal with the lows of the game. Getting hit often, if the team isn't as great as maybe he had before but not much we can do about these things until he's in those situations and ideally you don't want to see him in that situation.

In his short sample size he did show that adversity wasn't something that causes him to shell up and cry but it was a short sample size.

Overall I think we're trending in a really good direction and I think we have the coaches and talent to help Trey along the way.

Your list is off to a good start, but I would add/amend the following:

Talent
Coaching
Supporting cast
work ethic
Intelligence
fortitude/toughness
leadership
luck

I think fortitude is critical to overcoming adversity, toughness being related, and leadership to glue a team together are really important aspects. And luck is just an aspect that a QBs is in no control over, but can define a career.

Luck is a major factor.

Would Tom Brady have become an all time great if Drew Bledsoe didn't get injured, or his fumble against the Raiders in the AFC championship game wasn't incorrectly called a forward pass?

In that doc series of his, Man In The Arena, Brady said that if they didn't win that game against the Raiders, the fumble would've kept him on the bench and Bledsoe would've been the starter next season.

Well lucky for him and football, the refs made the right "wrong" call!

Apologies to my Raider fan homies, lol.

May 6th 2022 today it seems Trey isn't ready despite being ready a few days ago….but he also wasn't ready before that because joe montana said so.

Stay tuned to tomorrow. Will Trey be ready again? Or will this "not ready" part of the cycle continue? Only Twitter knows…

NFL projections

Lance had 603 yards on 71 attempts.
If we assume 71 attempts as 2 games worth that would be around 35 attempts per game...
He had 603 yards.
603 / 2 = 302
302 x 17 = 5134 pass yards in 2022

35 would be a lot of attempts but not unusual Bills averaged 38 per game..

Would be nice to give him a lot of throws to ramp up the learning curve / development... in other words...

His stats were from 2.5 games against Seattle, AZ, and Texans, plus 1 5-yard td pass against Detroit & 15-yard td run against. GB.

That would be about 240 yards per game/ 4,100 yards in a season, which is on par with Jimmy's per game averages.

Yup. I think we can ramp up the throws per game. Be more pass oriented with the ball in TL's hand more.

I assume that Shanahan will stick 40/60 pass run ratio, and emphasize more explosive plays that lead to more efficient scoring with the same amount of passes.

So in that regard Trey should have a higher per game average with the same amount of passes.

He would have around 27 passing TD's 13 INT's. So right around Jimmy's numbers. Not bad for a 1st time NFL starter compared to an 8 year vet.

I don't care what twitter says. Shanahan and Lynch's statements were very positive when asked about Trey. Both believe he is ready to take the starting job. Obviously they need to see it first. I don't believe there will be a competition but if there were it would be because Trey didn't come back to work prepared. I just don't see that happening though.
