132 days from now is late January. Unless there's an unexpected setback he should have a pretty normal offseason program next year, which is positive news.

Silver lining. Rehab the ankle, then keep working on mechanics and making the correct way to do things muscle memory.

Just a ton of living in the emotion of the moment. Looking for blame and being reactionary in here.

I think Kyle deserves blame for Trey's usage and lack of development these past two seasons but no one is to blame for Trey getting injured. It's football and it happens.

I mean lack of development based off a monsoon game and two drives? I thought playing him last yr would help more than sitting, but I realistic have no idea where he's at based of last week and two drives this week. Sucks

Just in time so Kyle can run the wishbone in week 1.

In this bad situation, at least we got the great news that the injury is better than Dak Prescott's injury a couple of years ago.

Noted Prescott suffered the injury in week 5, and was a full go at the start of next year's training camp.

Any fracture needing surgery is still bad, but at least it wasn't compound. Hopefully he will have a nice recovery and be even stronger. Dak was ready to go for training camp. Hopefully Lance's recovery is sooner.🙏

The recovery time is good news! Hopefully Lance comes back bigger and stronger. I hope he protects himself as much as he can.
It's going to be another fun season of watching TL fans hoping and praying that Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't win a Super Bowl.

LOL dude he was injured 2 times in 4 starts because the coach was so haphazard with his play calling. Yah a small sample size but an accurate reflection of his use, per the stats.

maybe he's more injury prone than you want to believe.

Coincidentally all our QBs are injury prone. Like that guy JG. He was very injury prone when he decided to challenge a bunch of defenders vs KC with the boundary right there. TL when he's getting 600 lbs of weight applied to his ankle is quite injury prone I have noticed.

TL plays like he believes he can still do this in the NFL when it's just getting him killed.

I think this is exactly it. Trey and the coaches thought his skill set would translate to the NFL. Run over defenders left and right like he did at ND State. I think this is the moment when most people realized that wasn't going to be the case:

He's not fast enough like Lamar or Kyler to evade the pass rush for an extra 5 seconds, nor is he strong enough to break tackles like Deebo, Marshawn or Derrick Henry. Kaepernick got by on his athleticism and the read option formation, which the NFL was not ready for. It bought him about two solid years before the league figured out how to defend it. Then he was exposed as a terrible pocket passer.

Lance doesn't have the benefit of exceptional athleticism or a gimmick offense. So he has to prove himself from the pocket, with an occasional run out of trouble. And when he comes back, he damn well better learn how to slide and do it on every play that he can.

Definitely "good" news. Better that this happened early in the season if it had to happen.

Trey just isn't going to work out. Sad but true.

why do you worry about people that aren't really 49ers fans? Seems like a waste of time. Real fans want the team to win no matter what. Or really you just wanted a reaction.

It's no different than Dak, Allen or hurts running. None are elite twitchy runners but can be affective. I'm fine tossing QB power in the trash going forward. Read options will and should be part of the game plan.
Hopefully Trey's deficiencies are mostly correctable by him working the film room and improving his mental game. No substitute for live game reps, but maybe he can be more "ready" week 1 next year than he was this year.

so you are saying there is a dumb and dumber "chance" to return for our SB run

132 days is just under 19 weeks
15 games remain
BYE
Playoffs 3 weeks not counting SB
