As for his mechanics, I think you can have bad mechanics but if you know where to throw the ball (before the ball is hiked) that's 90% of the game right there. Even if he just narrows it to man or zone, with his arm talent, that to me is a huge advantage versus the defense. So far I agree with NY85, his mechanics look good.

That was Kyle's IDEAL QB. Not Trey Lance's comp

Well I think Trey is a long way towards that comp already. At least I hope so! Specially after spending three 1st round picks.

Yeah crazy if you ask me. Lance's brother I think they said in pre-show or before he was picked that his brother was committed to a college, not sure, they said on NFLN well we may see him in a few year being drafted.

Study your damn playbook.

Or is he studying it by playing madden

Photogrsphic memory, its all in his head by last sunday.

I really have no issue with a player playing Madden or another sports game, and with fans, when he has free time it's something to do to pass the time. He'll learn the offense by getting reps in practice, some in game, and by watching JG play.

The Lance bros are infinitely less annoying. Little bro actually plays football, not stupid tik tok videos.

Daniel Jeremiah's comp was Steve McNair, he said on tonight's Path to the Draft, that after the pick he spoke with Lynch, and said he looked like McNair out there, and Lynch agreed. I think Trey can be a Brees/Lamar combo, he needs work obviously, he needs to sit for a yr, but from everything coming out, he processes everything, at the LOS, everything just as good as the other QBs do, I don't think it'll take more than 1 season for him to be ready to be the starter, 2022 it's Lance's team, we'll give Jimmy permission after the season in Feb to seek a trade with a team he wants to go to, they could just trade him anywhere, but he doesn't have a NTC like he does for 2021, and with Jimmy taking the pick good, not like Rodgers, Favre, Brady with JG, and others who were the starter, and then they draft someone in the 1st, then the starter resents the new kid, doesn't seem this way with JG, he'll be a starter in 2022 somewhere, some team will want him.

Jeez how tall is that guy? He must be 6'5". He's much bigger than Patrick standing next to him who is listed at 6'3".

If he wants to compete with Jimmy, he'll definely learn the offense. Endorsements will come, I just hope he keeps his head straight as those 49er checks come in. His first paycheck, he can move his whole family to Atherton next to Joe Montana's house.

Madden doesn't have any completion, that's why I think the game has stalled for a long while.

Agree that one year should enable Trey to compete with Jimmy. Steve McNair is a fair comp, for sure. But the classic dual threat QB that might be a better tutor for Trey other than RGIII is Steve in my book. On top of that, I hope Trey wins more super bowls than Steve.

My hope is that Jimmy wins #6 Lombardi and gives us either another year as QB or gets us added draft capital via trade. I'd be happy with a first round pick or a one and a two, if he's able to win #6 Lombardi.

I think we can see where this is going by training camp. I think Jimmy plays and Trey cameos. Trey might be the holder on fieldgoald and extra points. Joecool said it best. Everybody can copy Kyle's offense, but they can't copy his future starting QB.

Yeah Madden's really bland as far as the playbooks, been that way for a while, I could next get the read option with Kap right, never, always got tackled in backfield. It's been so bad, I sub to EA's Play Pro on PC for $16.19(with taxes) a month, I can get any EA game that comes out, so I get to play the newest Madden plus every game without having to buy the game for whatever system.

As for Lance, he's a good kid, no way he gets a big head, he seemed so humble, which was one of the things, I forget who said, that was a big thing with him, and like I said he processes everything as fast as any of the QBs drafted this year. Lance isn't a long term project like someone who you draft and have them switch to a position he's never played. But 1yr on the bench learning from JG, will be good, he'll have some special packages for him, so I think he plays some, if/when Jimmy gets hurt, Lance will get time, I think Kyle will give him some reps with the starters maybe during the preseason, camp, etc... to get used to our guys, OL, Weapons, etc...

Agree with everything, I hope he wins more SBs than Steve, obviously, I want the 49ers to win a lot of SBs over the next 15-20 years with Lance.

If JG gets us Lombardi #6, his value will have sky rocketed, it should net us a 1 or multiple day 2 picks, which ever the 49ers prefer, best offer, etc..
Hypothetical situation: We didn't draft Lance and chose another one of the QBs with #3. What pick would Lance have gone and to what team?
