Aaron Banks graded a lot higher at Notre Dame on zone blocking plays (87.2) than on gap (64.7) so he fits into the #49ers run scheme well. Banks did not allow a QB sack all of 2020. Not terribly athletic, but a large guy to plug in at RG at 6'5" and 325 lbs.

Some don't think his footwork and girth fit the 49er scheme. However, an NFL training program could drop his body fat percentage by 5+% and that would result in a quicker player. I like the pick. I watched two ND games this year and he moved very well when asked to do so.
I also expect this move will give McGlinchey a reason to mentor this kid along with setting himself on a higher plane. Kind of like a big brother helping little brother learn the game. At the same time he is helping Banks, he will be watching his own moves more critically.
