Tomlinson is proof that typical idea of fit is b******t. Tomlinson is underrated. Banks is quicker than these idiots act like. Look at those highlights he eats at the 2nd level. Idk what these f**kers are looking at.

Yeah, CB is certainly a need. Adding Ambry to the room helps. But don't be surprised if we start grabbing a couple veterans once the draft ends and prices fall even more (Sherman is a good example). We could use some more experience in the room.
I concur. Just glad we finally addressed the IOL for you NC

Yeah I wanted Samuel bad...I really think he was gonna be the pick of LA didn't draft him right before us.

Get me a CB and WR and whatever else today.

Do you believe Lynch when he said no matter what banks was going to be the pick? He even said, I know some people may not believe us but that was the pick five spots earlier so trading back and getting a fourth rounder was a bonus. I guess I believe him
All we need now is a
CB (if we aren't signing a vet)
WR that can play slot and return punts for the love of s**t
Center
LB or Edge
He's going to drop the baby fat and play probably 10lbs lighter.

I think so too. Training camp will take care of that unlike Josh Garnett
Love this pick the more I read about the guy. Will help solidify the oline going forward

His quick feet will make him good enough on outside zone. His mass and strength will make him a beast for inside zone. I think Kyle is going to expand on the running game with a QB capable of being a run threat and the additions of Banks and Sermon. NFL box defenders are in deep s**t coming up against this 49er run game. We may not see it all in 2021, but when Lance takes over, there's going to be too much for run defenses to handle. The speed and ability to create misdirection is about to be taken to another level.
We had to do something to help keep
Donald out of the backfield. Our interior has been pretty awful the last couple years. We had to do something there.

His criticizisms are reminiscent of when we brought in Laken. Kyle likes maulers with a little mobility for over the inside.

Maulers with some mobility at guard is a good way to say it. Kyle will run with power up the
middle on short yardage situations. Sometimes it looked bad doing it. Banks will make it look much better.

And of course, like you said, this is an attempt to counter Donald on the pass rush. Banks being a good pass protector is gravy.
Excellent breakdown of Banks at the Senior Bowl.

Yes!!! Yes!!! And hell Yesss!!!!

It had occurred to me back in late 2018 that the passing game in the NFL gotten stale. There's not any passing concepts that haven't been done or reused through the years. One of the reasons the NFL tweaked the rules to give the offense the advantage.

The run game has more ceiling. Kyle was trying to put his run game together more than the passing game. Until recently he hasn't put a major emphasis on drafting receivers. And when he did, he goes for physical RAC guys.

It's culminating in the draft with a qb that has major arm strength, mobility, and run threat.

Yep , and it will aggravate defenses to no end. 😊

Agreed. "It's a passing league". It's actually a playaction passing league. There were a couple things missing from the 49er run game in 2019/2020, QB keeper concepts and a true power element. The 49ers ran gap/power runs but it was more of a 'change up' than a 'go-to'. Kyle could be working towards adding weapons that will allow him to call power plays and QB zone reads (inside zone) with equal effectiveness as outside zone.

When it comes to guys that can get YAC, what's the one thing that has suffered with the softer practices (CBA rules)? Tackling. Enter Deebo/Kittle/Aiyuk.

CB seemed like a wiser investment in the 2nd round considering our needs and depth. I like Banks. He will need to start immediately for this pick to make any sense. There were some decent IOL coming off the board later.

I think upgrading RG was just as important as upgrading CB which we still did.

At his size he's gonna lose the leverage battle a lot against smaller DTs. Donald shouldn't have much an issue pass rushing against him.
