I think Kyle will keep him if hes cheap because he knows the system and has shown that he can play well in this system. With that being said I don't mind it too much, but would hope they at least look for some better guards in FA instead of just him being the only option.

I hope they can keep Banks. He's better than almost any rookie they might draft simply because of his experience.

Risner played LG for Denver and has experience at Center. We could have kicked the tires on him last off season when it seemed teams forgot he existed.

He wasnt that good this year. I think he benefits from TW more than anything and it showed.
I would rather roll with a rookie.

I think Brendal losing everything he knew about playing football ruined everything

hahaha I cant argue that, but I think with 12 picks we can find a guard who will be cheap and do a good job. Now center... well you mentioned a good FA.

Risner will get a serious raise. Perhaps the reason the 49ers didn't look at him is his relative weakness in run blocking. He is very good at PP. Based on what similar players are getting, he will be in the $8+ million range.

Risner had played LG and RG in the NFL.

Puni already disproved this by outplaying Banks. By that logic, why would you ever play any rookie when there's some mediocre veteran that has the edge in experience.

Banks has been solid. If we can resign him for a good cost that would be great. We need to replace Brendal and maybe draft a RT/LT in the first or second round. But Brendal is the weak link in the line. He is routinely getting beat and causing Purdy to have pressure in his face.

Just curious, where are you seeing that we have 12 picks ?
