Seems a bit heavy footed. Definitely heavy handed though. You stop moving when he gets his hands on you.

This is a great video. Like you said, he swallows up his man most of the time. They just stop dead in their tracks. And on the occasions where he gets left alone by the Defense, he does a good job of keeping his head on a swivel and finding not just somebody to hit, but the defender that he should be shifting to.

I like what this guy can bring to the O-line.

Yeah no way he can roll at 338lbs. This is a good thing

As long as his pass pro isn't compromised.

Not sure why it would be...being fat and slow isn't gonna help vs Aaron Donald. All about leverage/technique.

We saw what happened when McGlinchey came in too light. He got abused. Not to say slimming down from 338 to 320 is too light. I just know he was legit with his pass pro at whatever weight he was and I don't really want anything to change.

McG was never heavy to begin with. He's never been a great PP...he's always had issues dealing with power back in the ND days.

Joe Staley barely weighed 300lbs. it's all about technique and McG got away from that last yr.

He can't weight almost 340lbs playing OG for SF... IF weight was the only thing that mattered everyone would be telling these guys to roll around at 340. Some of the best lineman in the league are around 310-320lbs.

Yeah I assumed he was going to lose some weight so they could get the most athleticism out of him. I don't think it's a bad thing. I just don't want to see him getting manhandled. I'd love to see him lower his body fat % and keep on the muscle weight. If that means being 315 and lots of muscle I'm all for that.

Obviously technique is the most important thing. Small or heavy technique is what puts these guys over the top. There's plenty of big guys out there but the ones with the best technique are the most elite.
