You mean he doesn't want to carry on the tradition of all time great 49er Chilo Rachel?

top 50 pick on OG for me is pretty rich unless he's a straight up stud. We will see with Banks, I thought he was drafted a rd too early, but if he's a day 1 starter I get it.

I'd rather have Banks over Brown. But Asante Samuel Jr was a stud.

If Banks starts all 16 games and plays well it's gonna be hard to argue with the pick.

If Banks can solidify our RG position and finally make our OL quality defending vs pass rushers it will be well worth it.

Having said that...I'm shocked Brown went as late as he did and after all these other WRs. Could be another McLauren situation for the Washingtons lol...i still can't get used to their new name.

Especially if it allows Brunskill to go back to swing T. But I could certainly see why some would have gone a different direction.

Nah I would take Brown or Samuel over Banks. I think Brown with someone like Lance could have been a great combo.

Yeah I mean I'm fine with Banks, I never had him labeled as a top 50 pick (or really a fit for SF) during the draft process. I thought he was more of a top 100 pick talent and a little limited.

IMO I bet they could have traded down again and still got him AND Brown...like you, I was shocked Brown lasted until the mid 3rd.

I thought the WFT made a couple good picks in the 3rd with Benjamin St-Juste/Brown. Sounds like both are having really good camps.
I don't think there is any "IF" whether Banks cans solidify RG. I think he is a lock to do it. The good feet plus strength, quality of his game films, that does it for me.

I wouldn't spend a 2nd rd pick on a WR3. Rather shored up a longtime weakness at RG with a solid player that could start in day 1. To me, the first 2 picks should be players that could come in and compete for a starting gig. Banks is one, Brown won't since Deebo and Aiyuk are sure starters. Samuel might be one but we already have JV and Moseley locked in as starters. RG was clearly a big weakness and a open spot for competition, so Banks makes a lot of sense and JL and KS agreed.

Exactly, I can understand wanting Samuel but Guard makes too much sense. It's been a problem for years. Need to protect injury prone jimmy and the franchise. Not only that but if Banks is a Stud Kyle Shanahans run game gets a massive boost

Banks is starter material - he'll help shore up that OL.

I def wanted Samuel jr too.

but I don't think anyone should look at the pick as banks vs Samuel jr.

I think lynch knew that the Michigan CB was also a good prospect and might drop because of not playing due to Covid or whatever.

So I'm betting lynch took a blue chip prospect at OL who never gets hurt while still grabbing CB later since everyone agrees we need more CBs.

taking Samuel plus OL in the third was not as palatable to Lynch I'm guessing.

And i believe moore is going to start too, perhaps this yr, meaning we may have 5 bona fide starters and 3 others that COULD start. Rags to riches.

I didn't know he was from the Bay. That's pretty cool. I agree that he may have been picked higher than most thought, but we have to shore up the line. I'm glad that was a priority for Shanny Lynch

You got Moore starting over Lake?
