While he seems like an odd fit for a shanny scheme, I thought the same thing about Laken, and he's turned out just fine. If he can be Laken with better pas pro, than this is a great pick

Kinlaw was expected to be very raw. I'm guessing he shows significant improvement this season, especially with Bosa next to him.

That's your answer to the question "Why a mauler like this?" -- because he excels at what we do. When you've got a monster in the middle who is a very good zone blocker AND a stone wall pass protector, he projects very well for us.
