This game showed a couple things. 1) You can run on our DL to a specific gap all night and 2) When in doubt, take a shot on Ambry on 3rd down.

Yes and no for me. It was about execution on some of those plays.

That one big run by Jones if you watch the replay in slow mo the hole was open around left end and Logan Ryan was in position to fill and make that tackle for minimal to no gain. He totally whiffed.

Thomas was late on his coverages and PId an under thrown ball. He never turned, and this snowballed and he started panicking and grabbing on every shot. Wilks needs to tune him back up because just a few weeks ago Ambry was solid.

I think AmonRa runs out of the slot more, so I'm hoping Lenoir gets most of those assignments. I thought Lenoir was solid and he did let a int go through his hands which would have given him a spectacular game.

I think Ambry is gonna be just fine. He had a pretty bad game no doubt, but he's been solid this season. He's the weakest of our 3 starting cornerbacks, but we've seen this happen before just for him to come out balling the next week. I have faith in him, especially if he's not lined up on AmonRa much.

Call me crazy but I still believe in Thomas. The kid has talent. His issue is confidence in himself. Kid has to trust himself and not panic out there. You're in position to make the play...make it!
I think he was rusty. Hopefully we see the good version of Ambry the rest of this playoff.

I agree with this. Yeah, Ambry was awful on Saturday. But he has had a very good season.

Good call, he just had a rough sequence. Passes deep downfield, that are underthrown are notoriously tricky to play. WR ends up driving back thru the DB for the ball, it's an easy foul call. I think NFL PI is a lil punitive. Spot foul so you can have a 50 yard penalty is probably a lil much. NCAA I think it's a spot foul or 15 yard foul, whatever is less.
I agree that he'll be alright and more than likely comes back next week looking much better.

If he has another bad game (this time no rain), then the staff will either have two weeks or whole the off season to figure it out.

All the focus is on his DPIs, but there's not enough talk about how ass he was in the run game. One of Aaron Jones' longer runs was due to Ambry Thomas letting Jones get outside as the force player. Dude needs to nut up because the Lions are going to be throwing AND running at his ass.

Saw that play. Inexcusable. Looking like Ambry Witherspoon out there supporting the run.

True but the 1st PI he was just beat. If he didn't hold that was a td. dude has to clean it up or Detriot will just keep attacking him

Only saw one running play that he looked really poor on. He was the 3rd niner to not make the tackle including Bosa not setting and holding the edge and Warner wiffing on a TFL chance. Jones gained 10 yards on 3 misses.
We are as good as our weakest link
This guy makes me nervous.
If we cant stop Detroit it is because of him and on a lesser degree Gipson who is less and less convincing with the season

All I'm gonna say is, if we draft a corner with our first pick this offseason... I won't be mad.
