I was hoping AMB will be wearing Eric Wright's #21 !!

Is the league planning on selling official programs to viewers so they know who's who?
"And they didn't think he was going to play in 2019," Peters said. "And the kid battled back, started the first game. I think he even intercepted a pass the first game (vs. Middle Tennessee State). He really just proved to his teammates and coaches how tough he was mentally and physically. So that showed up a lot, too."

Due in part to the bout with colitis, Thomas opted out of the 2020 season, which made his evaluation more difficult. Still, he was one of the seven 49ers rookies who were on hand at the Senior Bowl, which gave the 49ers another level of analysis. He also had a strong Zoom-call session with defensive backs coach Cory Undlin in the run-up to the draft and got powerful recommendations from University of Michigan coaches.

"They blew us away with how they really liked him and respected him," Peters said. "He not only was a great competitor and a great athlete, which you can see on tape, but the stuff you can't see: He was a leader for them, he took control of the meeting room. They said, 'It hurt Michigan football that he didn't play this year.' That stood out when you spoke to them."

Ok I'll bite, why is it stupid? It allows players to have freedom to choose what number they want, and not be restricted to a certain number range, like WR, RB, TE, LB, DB can go anywhere from 1-49, now all OL can wear 50-59, it was only for Centers, now DL can choose 50-59, it used to be just 90-99. It's a great rule.

As for 21? No, that's Gore's number to me, the only 3 numbers I wouldn't give out that aren't retired are 21(Gore), 52(Willis), and 74(Staley)

There were three CBs taken directly in front of Ambry Thomas. This was the guy Adam Peters supposedly targeted. SF must have felt lucky that none of the three teams in front of the 49ers selected AThomas.

Kyle and John Lynch were targeting Paulson Adebo I think we could have drafted him instead.

Apparently was sweating bullets with Detroit picking before us with him being the hometown kid. Wish we got the hometown kid too, I liked Adebo more but am growing daily on Ambry the more I learn about him.

He did more than Gore as well. Thomas is an athletic freak. Get some weight on him and he'll
be solid.

Risky that they drafted a guy in rd 3 with ulcerative colitis since it's usually chronic and recurrent

It is OK, he is wearing an all time greats number, glad Antoine Bethea allowed him to wear 41.

It tapers off over time and people learn to deal with it.

Actually it stays kind of constant but the newer drugs, monoclonal Antibodies, the same type idea in Pfizer and Moderna monoclonals (anti covid), UC can be pretty darn well controlled. When i was younger, there were symptomatic treatments but nothing like today's monoclonals. Interesting that RA (rheumatoid arthritis), Systemic Lupus, UC, psoriasis, and a whole host of other autoimmune diseases respond to monoclonals . Fortunately, UC is one of those that responds well.

I would be amazed if he isn't on one of those and probably for awhile now.

I'll tell you one thing i wouldn't have been very happy with.....having the #1 pick in the draft and we take Trevor Lawrence who had R shoulder surgery a yr or two ago. What was never mentioned was he had L shoulder surgery just a couple months ago in Feb. if it was just arthroscopy to clean out crap from the joint, that's one thing. But if it was fixing something torn...that is another. Taking him with the #1 pick overall....i really wonder if JL/KS would have run that risk. Depends if the Feb L shoulder was just a clean out or ...a tear. For the Jags sakes, i hope it is the former.
