I was hoping AMB will be wearing Eric Wright's #21 !!

Ok I'll bite, why is it stupid? It allows players to have freedom to choose what number they want, and not be restricted to a certain number range, like WR, RB, TE, LB, DB can go anywhere from 1-49, now all OL can wear 50-59, it was only for Centers, now DL can choose 50-59, it used to be just 90-99. It's a great rule.

As for 21? No, that's Gore's number to me, the only 3 numbers I wouldn't give out that aren't retired are 21(Gore), 52(Willis), and 74(Staley)

Moon is stuck in the 80s
Didn't Deion Sanders wear number 21 with the 49ers? XD

21 should never be Gores !!

Do you know what Eric Wright did for the 49ers ???

He became our best CB after 2 years of being in the shadow of Ronnie Lott..

TELL me I'm wrong... tell me !!

Eric Wright was great but he was injury prone. If he were a Niner today he'd be crucified on this board. But we know he made arguably the most clutch defensive play in franchise history. He's franchise royalty to me like DC because of what he did to preserve "The Catch".

But of course it can and will be retired in Gore's honor sometime before he makes it to Canton.

Due in part to the bout with colitis, Thomas opted out of the 2020 season, which made his evaluation more difficult. Still, he was one of the seven 49ers rookies who were on hand at the Senior Bowl, which gave the 49ers another level of analysis. He also had a strong Zoom-call session with defensive backs coach Cory Undlin in the run-up to the draft and got powerful recommendations from University of Michigan coaches.

Risky that they drafted a guy in rd 3 with ulcerative colitis since it's usually chronic and recurrent

Newer medications are game changers. I've had UC since I was 21 now 54 the early years where pretty rough but with the introduction of Biologics like Remicade, Humira and Entyvio I have been in remission for 10 years. The hardest part is the time it takes to get diagnosed and get treatment to get it under control and he's past that point. If he fails I doubt it will be because of UC.

I don't remember him being injury prone until his last 2 years.. but that was only groin...

and if he was a 49er today, i can believe that he may be crucified by you guys and that's only because today's D aren't allow to play ROUGH !!

TODAY'S GAME IS BASICALLY FLAGLESS COMPETITION...

Agreed, and it is because of these biologics that Ambry can almost guarantee this will not be a problem. We have come a long way since Azulfidine, cortisone, antispasmodics, surgery of both rectum and colon with colostomy, to immunosuppressives (azothioprine, cyclosporine, and tolfacitinib), until now as noted above the 3 biologics have made UC a controlled disease. I don't see this as being a risk thanks to new biologics.

In all honesty, i think Ambry could have easily gone in Rd 2 but his UC scared some teams off. I would give a tip of the hat to our guys and the team docs for knowing exactly what UC is and how it is controllable. Because of that i think we got a gem. Need to see more, but i think Ambry is going to remind of us a lot of another guy, a RB wth 2 artificial ACLs...that is still playing ...yrs later. We'll see. Truly Kudos to kyle and JL for chasing this down and getting it right...stealing us a jewel. He still has to prove it but....

I hope so. But if I'm being honest, I do think Adebo was plan A and if the two were available at that spot, he would've been the choice

He was plan A imo. We never really say who we like and they straight out said they were targeting Adebo. I think Ambry might be a better playmaker and can do kickoffs at least for this year

Sounds good but we can't really say that without more info that those others were not higher on the overall board. e.g.,... Lynch's target could've been 1 of the 3.

I think Lynch wanted Adebo more than any of them and when he went 20+ picks earlier he just let Peters take the pick.
Just realized Thomas and Lance since they really didn't play last season have 1 less year wear 'n tear on their bodies than all the other draft picks, advantage 49ers.
