The 50 yard bomb was just another example of it whether he got bailed out or not. Norman was benched for giving up a far less catch and with no S help.

norman has been out of position and getting burned pretty consistently which is why he commits so many PI

i dont think thomas has a single PI/ because he is always in position and because of that the catches he allows seem to be always highlight reel and just great plays. Im not saying he doesnt need to improve but rookie CB have the highest bust rate even more than qb because the amount that gets drafted and he is playing really well imo

He doesn't have any P.I.'s because he gives up the catch. Haha.

I like the kid but it makes me wonder what he's been working on with a full year off and 15 weeks into the season. Work on your craft, kid.

he really hasnt given up that much and all the catches he gives up are just amazing plays you sometime have to give credit to the offense

if you think his play is bad and he's not startable if the team was in your hands you would never have a secondary or just be paying an obscene amounts to FA. The fact is he is playing extremely well and not just for a rookie just in general

We obviously have different definitions of "playing extremely well" but it's WAY early in his career. As long as he keeps improving, that's all I care about.

I think he's doing better but still has a long ways to go. He looks better in comparison to what is across from him but that isn't saying much. CB is still a major liability and will needed to be addressed in a big way in the offseason.

Agree, but will have to say he played better than he has to date. He is generally where he is supposed to be, and in watching Game PASS, he just looked better than he has played to date..,ie, he is improving.

At first he looked like a smaller Witherspoon... in decent position yet cant locate anything in the air... but he is actually learning to look back at the ball. So he is already miles ahead

If that's extremely well, we have set the bar really damn low for CBs here.

He's been average at best so far, he's definitely improved a bit from 3 weeks ago, but he still allows way too many catches.

extremely well for me is playing well in coverage

allowing tough catches sucks but it happens just like sometimes in basketball players go on a hot streak i don't expect receivers to consistently make amazing catches over him and eventually it will revert to the mean

sometimes you have to look at a play and just give credit to the offense and receiver/QB and i think when ambry was in coverage thats the case except for one catch where Jamar Chase burned him

for him taking the next step is attacking the ball which he is pretty poor at but i like the fact that almost all the catches he gives up are hard plays for the offense they arent gimmie long plays where he leaves the guy a few yards (looking at you Josh Norman)

Bingo. That's like a rookie WR running a great route, getting to his spot right on time but then dropping the pass. If you can't make a play on the ball, it's all moot.

Some have great instincts on when the ball is arriving and know how to play the ball and others never learn.

I'm not trying to hate on the kid but WTF have you been doing all off season and through 15 weeks of the season playing against Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Kittle, etc. in practice?

Yeah it does no good just being in position and allowing the catch. Hopefully he will improve bc we need not just a solid cb but a very good to great one in our division filled with elite wrs.

If we can get Eman and Ambry as our starters next week and going into the playoffs, we could possibly upset our way deep into the playoffs. Glad our coaching staff finally wised up and benched Norman

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?

I got a good feeling. Sending out those positive vibes haha
