i don't think he ever played on the right side here. LT and a few snaps at LG. I thought he would be a shoe in at RT when let McGlinch go

Various reports said he is more comfortable at LT than RT. Lane Johnson is the opposite and a first-ballot HOF on the right side.

I thought him at RT as well, but I believe he played some games there over the years and was bad. Just feels like we draft guys and never use them or use them incorrectly.
I've definitely been impressed with Moore this year. He's also looked good when filling in at left guard. Some guys are just way more comfortable on one side.

"Not everyone can play both sides. For some guys, it's like wiping your ass with your opposite hand--it's never going to work." - Geoff Schwartz:

Nobody wants him to do that. Just block.

I know PFF has some faults but it is useful to see where players rank against each other. When we do that, Moore, adjusted for minimum snaps, ranks #14 among all tackles, left and right. His ratings are almost the same for run blocking and pass protection.

Do we have our future blindside guy?

I think early in his career he was always a good protector, he just had lots of mental blunders. I think he knows our system well now. I am afraid he's not going to stick around knowing he can start elsewhere now.

We'd really have to pony up and I fear we're in a horrible position. Unless Trent retires, and he won't after the reworked deal, our best bet might be begging Moore to stay and become the new starting LG.

A deal with a lot of the money in 2026 or later would work. Williams becomes less of an issue in 2026. A post-June 1 cut in 2026 nets us $25 million in cap space.

With nothing guaranteed in the draft, keeping Moore and focusing on Center seems to be the best play for the draft. It won't be easy. KC would have to do some maneuvering on their cap but they cannot go into next season with the mess they have this year at both tackle positions.

We can revitalize Williams and save his left ankle by using his right ankle more when moving him to RT. Then we can keep Moore at LT.

Sign Center Dalman and let Beau and Puni lock up Guards.. instant #1 OL

If FA is the path, Dalman is a very good run blocker but his pass protection rating is below average.

A better target might be Coleman Shelton of Chicago. He is a much better pass protector than Dalman. His run blocking is just a touch below Brendel. Shelton is the highest-ranked FA Center right now. 30 years old next season, 6'4" 300.

We don't have the cap space to sign anyone worth a s**t this off-season, we won't be able to retain half our FA starters next year.

We're rolling over cap and the cap increases. 2026 is when favorites can be casualties

I rather resign Mooney than over spend for a C that's not gonna be elite like Mooney is. Which we aren't going to do, Mooney will be gone. Including players like Mason, Huff, Moore, and possibly even Greenlaw.

Mooney hasn't been elite this year though. Obviously he's going through a lot, so I'm sure that is factoring into his play and prep, but he hasn't been elite this year at all imo. The year before this he was great though, so could be due to coaching as well.

We have the 5th most cap space in the NFL in 2025

with Demo and Green coming up in the world, an above avg Center would help tremendously. Brendal has lost some games for us single handedly.

Bringing in a rookie center would mean Brendal would start until that Center is up to speed

Look on the brighter side, BA, Deebo, TW, Bosa, CMC were all abke to squeeze every last penny out of the team and are all either watching from the box seats or under performing. Let's be happy they got paid.
