Nice call NY. I guess the dream is over for Sherman or Hayward

I mean I don't think drafting him affects signing a DB

I hope you're right but I have a feeling that's the rationale. You know Donte Johnson is a world beater
His name sounds like the only black dude in Hogwarts...

He got to play at his natural position(outside CB), which is surprising that Seattle, the team hellbent on having 6'3" CBs, was able to realize that was his position but the 49ers weren't.

Fortunately, the 49ers have clearly realized a CB doesn't need to be 6'3" to play zone or tackle and have moved away from the Seattle-CB profile.

That whole Seattle D likes 6'3 corners has been overblown
their best CB the last 2 seasons was 6'0
its like Shanahan and his OLine
Perception is not necessarily reality

It's not overblown, nor is it perception. It's reality. If you've ever read The Art of Smart Football by Chris B. Brown, there's an entire chapter about why Pete Carroll became obsessed with tall cornerbacks coming out of USC. Also, the proof is in the pudding: Richard Sherman(6'3"), Brandon Browner (6'4"), Byron Maxwell(6'1"), Tharold Simon(6'2"), Eric Pinkins(6'3"), etc etc. Maybe they have become more open-minded about CBs in recent years, but it was absolutely a thing for a decade up in Seattle.

There is only a handful of 6'1"+ CB every draft, like 3-5, discounting 6-7th-round flyers on less-known guys.
Practice squad stash.
