"The Hyena" Deommodore Lenoir, CB, 5th round 2021

I resigned him in Madden too. Not sure I'll be able to get Purdy signed now though lol.
He's been playing at a high level, can't complain about a dawg getting his bag. Now will he continue playing at that high level after getting the bag is the real question.
The only thing I hate about this signing is the timing. HAPPY to have it done with no drama, but this pretty much tells Ward that he is gone next year...while he is away from the team, dealing with the death of his child. :(

How are they signing all these guys? It's like they have a money printing machine and no salary cap. I'm glad they did. But I'm sure Skip Bayless will complain about how we don't have a cap.

Wondering same thing.

We have less salary cap than we did with Eddie D. I don't think the 49ers have one.

The 49ers are just good about planning out their contracts and knowing what each players cap hit will be each year.
We ended up having to let Arik Armstead go last year though, so it's clear that they can't re-sign everyone.

However, with Purdy's extension looming, I expect the following:
--- Aaron Banks will probably get a bigger contract elsewhere that we can't match (similar to McGlinchey or Tomlinson)
--- Mooney Ward moves on. He originally signed a three-year detail that will have him back on the free agent market at age 30, good timing for one last payday.
--- Greenlaw and Hufanga... they should've commanded huge deals, but it depends on what their market is after both have had injury issues in 2023, 2024.

Hufanga is probably on the way out. They have a cost controlled replacement.

Yep Hufanga is not worth big money. Greenlaw though I hope we can get something done. He is a beast. Mooney is going to want one more splash deal should get it. Just not here.

Nice quiet no drama signing. I'm happy out 5th rd gem getting paid!
He earned this. Earning 5th round $$, coming into final year, no complaints, no holding out, showed up all offseason, one of the few players who has shown up every game all game.

I'm glad he got paid and that we were the ones to pay him.

You spelled Hufanga wrong

As much as I love greenlaw he may not come back the same, or he will what do I know
12 highest paid CB in the entire league and knowing how this FO has worked his cap hit will probably be extremely team friendly w/ Jed probably ponying up a nice fat signing bonus.

By the time he hits Mooney's age when he signed, he'll be like the 20th? Maybe even lower? I bet you BA doing what he did has taught him a lesson and knows it's not worth playing poker any more.

First thing that crossed my mind, Ward gonna get his but just not by us. Sucks what he's going through
Smart move to get it done now.

Hopefully the front office is learning you actually save $$ doing these blue chip players early.

Two way street. They have to be willing.
