average guards are getting $15+ million a season. No way can we afford to give Banks that kind of money when he is not even pro-bowl calibre. Just put Burford at LG(his natural position) and you probally don't lose that much.
Price tag got cheaper to extend him is all that happened

Maybe for his next team.

He sucks let him walk. Tired of injured dudes and dudes in the secondary that can't cover.

I believe they drafted Puni to replace Banks next year. And will roll with a cheap RG. Probably Felciano
Not signing Justin Simmons or some other veteran FS was a terrible move. You could've taken away Chris Conley, Patrick Taylor and a few other useless veterans off this team to make up about 1/2 of the 8M he got from Atlanta.

I agree.
Man this guy has the injury bug. He's built of glass now. He wasn't like that at USC or when he first started with us. Just fragile all over the place. Probably won't work out long term. Brown and Mustapha are the future.

Simmons should've been a no brainer.

They need atleast one S that brings coverage ability.

That was always his weakness. Great around the line of scrimmage. When he was healthy. Banging people and making plays. While he would get interceptions because he is instinctive. He was also slow in deep coverage and could be burned. So that with the injury history I'm ok to move on from him. I feel bad for him. Just a lot of injuries. Before all of that he was pretty good. But maybe not great.
