Hufanga will want/command $15 mil a season
Demand is what he would want
Big Big Difference
You are right. I shouldnt have said want, as no one has any idea what he wants. It wasnt supposed to be a "gotcha" moment. I genuinely meant $15m is what I have seen out there as what he would get, not want. Like what he would command on the free agent market.
Bottom line, $15m a year is far too much to pay Hufanga. If that is indeed what his market is, thats an easy pass.
Yup I agree; that's too much if that's the case and I might be his biggest fan.
This is what I've been fearing with all the mega contracts being handed out. Eventually the DBs and O linemen are going to want their share and it's going to be hard to pay them when half your cap is swallowed up by 5 players at the top.
The rookie players were doing this up until a fewyears agoand the league set a salary scale for them that is still used. Maybe they need to do something like tat for the rest of the players. Slot money for each postition group or cap the amount that can spent in each group. I don't know but something needs to be done. Teams are paying $50 mil or more for a QB and then can't afford to keep O linemen to protect him.

We were least going to let Huf test the open market and see what kinda offers he could generate. So his agent is throwing out some absurd number seeing if anyone will bite. It's delusional since Justin Simmons only got 7.5 million last year. I expect Huf back on a similar deal Simmons got tbh.

Justin Simmons was 31 last year, and Hufanga is entering his age 25 season. Big difference.

Unless he's coming back on a very team friendly deal he won't be a 49er in 25.

You dont think theres a huge difference between a 31 year old and a 25 year old in football?

He'll be back on a team friendly prove it type deal because that's the kind of person/player he is………….and all of you who don't want him back will take it back and regret all the trash talk in similar fashion to all the trash talk of everything he isn't and can't do on his way to a first team all-pro season 😘

Sure there is but there's a difference in each players health and production. Not that Huf isn't good but Simmons has been a consistent pro bowl level player. Therefore I think around 8 million 1 year deal is what Huf will get.

Huff is garbage. Way over rated. Cant tackle , takes terrible angles and coverage is worse. I hope he ends up on a NFC West team so we can exploit him.

Alright. I don't discuss fitness with obese people and I won't be discussing football with you.

I understand. You like the echo chamber effect.

Saying something outside the norm does disrupt an echo chamber. Still doesn't make what was said intelligent. We just had an expert saying Mahones was the most overrated QB of all time in the NFL forums. Instead of having nuanced conversation you go absolutes like saying Huf is garbage. He's not. Can he improve aspects of his game? Yes. But instead your post reads as a someone who doesn't know s**t about football and judging by your laughably bad Nick Bosa arguments I tend to think it's true. Thanks hope the rest of your year gets better

I like him, but Mustapha has made him expendable.
