"Yeah, we've definitely got to get Elijah in there more and do better with our rotation than we did yesterday. That wasn't the plan going in. It just ended up that way and I've got to make sure that doesn't happen

Haha. I want to believe him but...

Same. I think it was more intentional than not. Its against his best bud, its a divisional game, and McVay beat him to a Superbowl win.
Not sure if you guys noticed, but we needed every advantage on every offensive snap in that game.

hopefully the rest can come in on Thursday and possibly the game after

For sure.
Hopefully he is less made of glass or else it will be the cmc mason show real quick.
He's probably injured

full of crap.. " just happened " ???

I hope KYLE was not the one who said this rookie type of statement.

Kyle always lie about this. He is not absent minded and is fully aware of what he's doing.

The position coaches do have more power than many believed. The HC's leverage is to fire them, but often that doesn't happen during the season.

He looked good in the Giants game. I hope he gets more involved in the run and pass game to give more breathers to CMC, it's a long season and I'm always concerned for CMC's health. He's the cog that makes the Kyle Shanahan offense - *THE* Kyle Shanahan offense.

He and Mason have both shown that they can play when given the opportunity, though of the three Mason is maybe the least polished receiver, and he did have a couple of fumbles during preseason. But there is absolutely no reason why Mitchell shouldn't be getting his share of snaps every week. I mean, I get that McCaffrey is a stud, which is why you want him healthy and available for any potential playoff runs, but there's no reason to run him into the ground.

Agree about Mason. He's a talented back. I"d also like to see him more in the 4 minute offense when 49ers are way ahead. I know Kyle wants his starters in the game to prevent a comeback, but I think in a situation where you are up two scores (or even 1.5 scores) They should use Mason more for those tough *throw away* downs where Kyle knows it's only going to get, at most, two yards or so. In other words, lets preserve CMC's life for the playoffs.

Mitchell doesn't look healthy. Mason needs to get more involved in these games… over Mitchell IMO.

Kyle trust Eli more in pass protection and holding onto the football. And I think Eli is healthy. He is just rusty because he didn't have much of a training camp and didn't get much or any touches in the 1st 2 games.

I agree, think think he's rusty too.

Elijah is a good back. Great jewel of a find in the 6th round. Very similar in size and playstyles with CMC. Its just that CMC is just better in everything. Great depth player for us, thank God we have Elijah for another one year after the 2023 campaign.

Not just a good back, but I'd argue he is a starting caliber back. Guy can easily average 80 - 90 yards a game based on past history. He just can't stay healthy, but he is definitely a 1b back in my book.

I love CMC and even have him in fantasy but I think this needs to be more of a 60/40 split. Mitchell is a starting caliber back, when healthy, and we need to avoid running CMC into the ground. Need him relatively fresh for our playoff run. Mason definitely needs some touches too especially with his bowling ball style of running. Perfect style for closing out games when the defense is tired and needs to dig deep to make a tackle to salvage a game.
Injured again. You've got to be kidding me!!! Banged his knee in practice

He is so fragile
And now you know why we haven't seen more of him. He was probably already banged up.
