God my autocorrect is absurd. Sucks that Wilson went down, but might be a blessing in disguise so they don't have to cut or stash one of their RBs right off the bat.

I couldn't agree more.

but, it's a different game when the pads are on!!

Yup, one of the oldest sayings in football moon, that's when you separate the men from the boys! I would always get a kick out of it from when I was a kid in pop Warner, or little league (not sure what it's called elsewhere) the first day the pads went on and hitting started, it would be apparent from day one who would make it. Seen kids literally crying from then even in high school. My absolute favorites was the bull ring and machine gun drills which don't exist anymore, back when we were taught to "see the target" and hit with the crown of your helmet, also don't exist anymore lol

Obviously neither of you have ever heard of HOF running back Cory Sheets

I remember those drills. We were actually told to lead with the helmet but slide it off to the left or right and drive with the shoulder. That was in the 60s. Maybe our coaches were a little ahead of their time.

Man yall take Mostert for granted... but that's normal for most NFL fans when it comes to players. Just objects and pieces for many.

He's coming up on 30 and gets dinged up every year. This is likely his last year on the team.

Afrikan has you described to a tee. Mostert is the best RB on the team. He is also the best special teams player on the team. He is also among the most popular players and a team leader.

Sorry for the previous answer's tone but I've been defending Mostert since he first arrived. I wrote an article comparing him to J.D. Smith and strongly urged Kyle to give him a chance. He finally did and now Raheem is in the 49er record books. Again, I apologize for the emotional response.

This is likely the last year you will be posting crap on the team. We get it that you don't like Mostert but most pseudo fans don't know a thing about a player's real value to the team. Mostert will be here AFTER your last post...

I suggest you reel it in. Throwing around comments like pseudo fans and the rest will get you banned.

People are entitled to their opinions. By the way, Memphis has been here for some time.

memphis and afrikan are very very good posters and both have very good points.. i am not sure i agree with the opinion that this is mosterts last year on the team. but given how well we find running backs and if our two rookies turn out to be players.. then that theory can not be discounted

Yup- If Mitchell and Sermon play well (I expect them to) Mostert is gone. Fragile and getting old etc.

i can see that,, but if could... lets just tap the brakes a titch on the two rookies,,, i get the desire to get pumped up and excited about new blood on the team... however... lets not be so quick to turn on wilson and mostert. it is still their jobs till they lose them and they have the resume where they deserve respect. while alex did..... neither should lose their job cuz they got hurt in my opinion... I am not being cc negative about the two kids... they are unproven and could turn out to be another korey sheets

Fair enough and I agree it's theirs to lose. I just foresee no real drop off with the rookies and dare I say maybe even improvement so it'll be easy to move along. I'm more worried about blitz pickups than their running.

at least unlike last year. we will have some normalcy in off season workouts and camps and practice to bring the kids up to snuff and then trot them out alot in pre season. no sense in exposing mostert cuz we know what he can do. those 2 and hasty and our new free agent can do the job. till the bullets start to fly. then we will see what we got with them to go with mostert
Besides Lance, probably the next rookie I'm most excited to see on preseason. I think we may have gotten a sixth round gem

I'm a fan of Mostert myself, but the reality is what it is. If they weren't looking towards a future post-Mostert, I doubt they would've spent so much draft capital on the position. I don't take attacks personally from folks who don't know me personally. It's all good👍

Taking the handoff from HOF QB Nate Davis
I was surprised by 49ers signing one RB and drafting two, but Mostert is 29, plus he, Hasty and Wilson are in contract years, so it makes sense that the 49ers will move on from all three after this season. If Mostert plays as he has in the past then he would be in line for a contract the 49ers won't be able to pay.
